Serenade to Kaysa is a Side Adventure quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Serenade to Kaysa side adventure mission.
Location: Central Hyrule > Hyrule Field > Outskirt Stable
Quest Giver: Mastro
Requirement: Finished Side Adventure: Serenade to a Great Fairy
Reward: 100 Rupees, unlock Great Fairy Kaysa for upgrading armor
Quest Info: The Great Fairy Kaysa near Outskirt Stable has shut herself up inside her flower bud. The sound of the music troupe’s flute might draw her out, but their flautist, Pyper is missing.
Objectives:
- Find Pyper Location
- Finish Side Adventure: The Flute Player’s Plan
- Return to Mastro
- Drive the Band up the hill to Kaysa
Starting Location: Serenade to Kaysa
This quest starts at Outskirt Stable in the southwest of Central Hyrule region. It’s only available after completing Side Adventure: Serenade to a Great Fairy.
Find Pyper Location
First you must find Pyper, the missing flute player. Go to Faron Region > Highland Stable. He is on top of the trees directly north of the stable. Climb up and talk to him. Ask him “Are you the stable trotter?”.
He will give you a new Side Adventure called The Flute Player’s Plan. You must first do this for him by collecting 10 sunset fireflies, only then he will go back to the Fairy with you.

Return to Mastro
After finishing the Adventure for Pyper, he will automatically travel back to Mastro at Outskirt Stable. Go back there and talk to Mastro. The band members will say something about other missing band members if you haven’t done the great fairy quests yet but don’t let that distract you. All you must do is build a cart and drive Mastro, Violynne, and Pyper up the hill to Kaysa Fairy.
Drive the Band up the hill to Kaysa
When standing in front of Mastro, look to the left to find a big stone cart with 3 green wheels. Attach the 4th wheel that fell off. Make sure the arrows on all 4 wheels are facing forward in the same direction! Also attach the Steering Stick on top, facing forward.
Park the cart in front of Mastro.
Also in front of Mastro is a wooden carriage but the wheels are missing.
Grab some wheels from the side of the stable and attach them to the carriage.
Then attach the carriage to the big cart with 4 green wheels. Talk to Mastro and tell him “Get in, I’ll handle it”. The finished vehicle looks like this:
Drive up the hill to Kaysa Fairy. If the rocks on the path are giving you trouble, you can use Ultrahand to lift the cart. The musicians will complain that the carriage is rocking too much and you are forced to put them down but you can repeat this as often as you need. Also recheck that the green arrow on all 4 wheels are facing forward, cause if one is facing backwards it will mess with the steering and you don’t have enough speed to get uphill.
When you arrive at the Fairy, a dialogue will automatically trigger and the quest ends.
