Doom The Dark Ages All Collectible Locations Guide – 100% Completion

May 12, 2025 by PowerPyx 2 Comments

Doom The Dark Ages contains 142 Collectibles, 163 Secrets, 48 Mission Challenges, and 6557 Gold (4427 collected + 1800 from mission challenges + 330 from destroying hell fighter jets). Gold is typically found in stacks of different values, ranging from single 1 gold bars to big chests containing 50 gold. The 4427 collected gold is scattered across hundreds of locations throughout the game (not 4427 individual locations). Most of the Collectibles also count as Secrets so you often get two items in one.

Getting 100% completion with this guide takes around 20 hours playtime. Nothing is missable, everything can still be obtained via Chapter Select after the story. It doesn’t matter on what difficulty you play. You can play on the easiest setting and make use of accessibility features and damage modifiers, this won’t disable trophies/achievements.

There are the following types of collectibles and associated trophies / achievements:

  •  26 Codex Lore Pages – trophy Lore Nerd
  •  24 Collectible Demon Toys – trophy Toy Collector
  •  38 Rubies (34 collected + 4 from Mission Challenge Rewards) – 33 needed for fully upgrade all weapons for trophy Gunpletionist
  •  32 Demonic Essence (11 Health + 9 Armor + 12 Ammo) – trophy Essentially Unstoppable
  •  11 Wraithstones – all needed for fully upgrade all weapons for trophy Gunpletionist
  •  11 Weapon Skins – no trophy
  •  163 Secrets – no trophy, but finding all collectibles automatically completes the secret areas
  •  6557 Gold (4427 collected + 1800 from mission challenge rewards + 330 from destroying hell fighter jets) – you need 5925 gold to buy all upgrades for trophy Gunpletionist & trophy Berserker.

For the Platinum trophy & 1000 Gamerscore you need everything except the Weapon Skins, Secrets, and you only need 5925 of 6557 Gold and 33 of 38 Rubies. In total there are 632 Gold and 5 Rubies more than you need, so if you miss a few it’s fine and no need to replay the entire chapter for that. You can buy upgrades at the green Sentinel Shrines which are always on the main story path. The earliest you can buy completely all upgrades is in the last chapter at the final Sentinel Shrine, because you need all Wraithstones to buy the final upgrade on each weapon, and the last Wraithstone comes in the final chapter.

All collectibles get marked on the map when you go near them. Check the map in every area. Collectibles you picked up get a green checkmark on the map. When you replay a chapter the whole map is unfogged from the start and everything you already collected will be gone (no need to recollect it). Gold can only be picked up once, so you cannot farm it. You do need to collect over 90% of all gold pickups in the game with the rest coming from challenge rewards. The collectible guide shows everything chronologically, by following it you get 100% completion in every chapter on the first playthrough, including all challenges.

BUG WARNINGS:

  •  trophy Berserker for buying all Shield/Rune/Melee Upgrades can glitch if you buy upgrades across different chapters. A confirmed workaround is to keep ALL of your Gold/Rubies until you can buy everything in one go (5925 Gold + 33 Rubies). If you have PS+ you can also make a cloud save backup. Then buy completely all upgrades at the same Sentinel Shrine in one go and it should unlock the trophy correctly (I bought everything at the final Sentinel Shrine in Chapter 22 and it unlocked fine). At the first Sentinel Shrine in Chapter 2, you can quit out of the menu to avoid buying anything when the game gives a tutorial for it. It doesn’t always bug out even if you buy upgrades across different chapters, but if it bugs then you will need to delete the save and redo everything it in a new game from scratch. If you made a PS+ cloud save you can also try reinstalling the game, restoring save, and buy everything again from your backup save.
  • Demonic Essences can bug out if you restart checkpoint after getting an Essence, before reaching the next checkpoint. Then getting the Essence again won’t increase the counter on the map and chapter select (it gets stuck at 0/1 collected). It’s unclear if this also voids the trophies for it, as long as your stat increased you may still be able to pop the trophy but even when replaying chapters and recollecting, the counter will stay stuck at 0/1 collected. The workaround is to not restart checkpoints so that this doesn’t happen. As a precaution you can make a PS+ backup save at the start of every chapter, then check after the chapter check that all collectible counters increased correctly.

When you replay chapters to collect missing collectibles, do you have to complete the chapter again? Or can you exit once you’ve picked up the collectible?

You can exit once you find what you’re looking for and it will count it
