- Quest Description: The Landbreakers have attacked the Valley Fort. Rendezvous with the Landbreaker specialist at the Bridge Approach and go to the Valley Pass.
(Optional) Make a piece of basic gear for operators
Before you advance to the objective, access the Gear Assembly Menu again. You can click “Gear Assembly” on the right side of the Protosync (the main menu). On PS5 press Options-Button / on PC press ESC -> on right side click Gear Assembly.
After crafting the armor, go to the Operator Menu, click the third menu from the top to equip the items to your teammates. To complete the objective you just need to craft/equip 1 piece of armor to 1 teammate.
If you don’t have enough materials, you need to grab Origocrust from your base and attack trees for Wood.
Go to the Bridge Approach
Fast travel back to your base and walk from there to the objective at the north-west exit of the region.
Defeat the Landbreakers
Beat the big group of enemies. One of them is like the Landbreaker Chief miniboss that you fought earlier in the game. Try to interrupt his red charging attacks by casting skills.
After this fight, you unlock Wulfgard as a playable operator. You also gain access to the Headhunting feature, which lets you recruit additional operators. Follow the onscreen tutorial that will walk you through it the first time. You can access it later anytime from the main menu.
Headhunting Explained:
At this point, you can claim the New Horizons mission rewards to get 20 Headhunts for free.
The “New Horizons Headhunting” guarantees a 6-star operator after 40 Headhunts. Each HH ticket lets you do 1 Headhunt. Each Headhunt is guaranteed to recruit some Operators, but you might draw some duplicates. During Chapter 1 you are guaranteed another 20 Headhunts for a total of 40, thus guaranteeing a 6-star Operator (can claim the tickets after Main Mission: Paving the Way).
Be sure to redeem your 20 Headhunts right now. You will unlock more characters which will come in handy soon – they can be assigned to different production lines for increased yields. 4-star is the lowest quality, 6-star is the best. You will mostly draw 4-star operators but typically get one 5-star. The higher the rarity, the lower the chance to draw the character. Note that each HH-10x-Permit counts as “10 headhunts”. So redeeming 2 tickets gives you 20 headhunts.
Your starting character is already 6-star, and the automatically recruited 3 operators are 5-star. For now you can stick with your default team or try different team combinations. In the main menu on the right side you can click “Team” to create 5 different setups.
Check the bridge switch
Interact with the switch directly in front of you, to the right of the bridge. Use the material in your inventory to repair it, interact again. However, it’s missing electricity.
Return tothe Core AIC Area
Fast travel back to your base (yellow tower on map), or walk back. Note that on fast travel the mission sometimes gets untracked. If the objective markers disappear, open the Missions Menu and track the Main Mission again.
Transmit power to the Bridge Approach Electric Nexus
Interact with the Automation-Core (big pillar in the center) and “Start Transmission” to draw a power cable. Make sure you have Relay Towers in your hotbar (if not, open backpack and place them in hotbar).
Head back toward the bridge objective, every 80 meters place a relay tower and connect the power between them. Placing 2 Relay Towers will suffice, the last one just needs to be within 80 meters of the bridge switch. Draw the Transmission Cable from a Relay Tower and Plug it into the Switch. No need to make a Pylon near it.
Activate the bridge Switch
Now you can use the switch! This opens up the Valley Pass region. You also unlock the Operational Manual – it lets you redeem various rewards for completing tasks and daily missions. You can also play Training Tutorials in this menu. For now just claim the rewards, you can come back to the Training later.
After exiting the Operational Menu you are done with this mission. You get 2 Origeometry, 1700 T-Creds, 11 Intermediate Combat Records, and a bunch of weapons. You can equip the newly earned weapons in the Operator Menu.
This finishes Westward into the Vale main quest in Arknights Endfield.
