HC Helicopter is a main boss in Armored Core VI during Main Mission 01: Illegal Entry. This is the first boss in the game. The mission starts with a predefined loadout which will be the same for all players, meaning you can’t change any stats and must rely on pure skill.
HC Helicopter Boss Strategy
The key to win this fight is to use get close to the helicopter and attack with the left-hand melee blade. Keep shooting your missiles and rifle at all times for more damage. Hide behind obstacles while your energy recharges.
- Start by locking onto the boss with
/ Right Stick. This makes it easier to hit him. - Fly towards the boss with
/ press Left Stick. Then attack with the left blade 
/ 
. Keep shooting your right hand weapon at all times by holding down 
/ 
. Also keep tapping 
/ 
at all times to shoot your shoulder launchers as soon as they are recharged. - After landing melee hits your energy will depleted (white “stamina bar” at bottom of screen). This causes you to fall back to the ground. The energy recharges quickly within 2 seconds. If the helicopter shoots a lot of missiles, hide behind buildings.
- After your energy is recharged, repeat step 2 – fly towards the boss again, use melee, shoot your other weapons at same time. Rinse and repeat.
- If he shoots big missiles at you, either dodge with

OR if you’re currently flying towards the boss simply tilt the left stick 
/ to evade in mid-flight.
When you fly close under the helicopter he has trouble hitting you. However, he moves around a lot so the best strategy is to play aggressively and just quickly fly towards him again and keep hacking away with melee attacks. If you manage to stagger him (the bar over his health turns red) he will take increased damage. If that happens try to land a melee attack and all other attacks during the stagger phase for increased damage.
As usual with FromSoftware games, the first boss is always hard. This fight will teach you all of the game’s key features which are the use of melee, shoulder weapons, firearms, flying, evading, and recharging energy/stamina.
