In Avatar Frontiers of Pandora you can unlock a Flying Mount, called ‘Ikran’. This allows you to get around the map faster and reach any place easily.
How to Unlock Flying Mount
You unlock the Ikran Flying Mount automatically from Main Quest 11: Take Flight. This is unmissable. Simply advance the main storyline to unlock the flying mount.
How to Unlock Ability to Fly in All Regions
Initially, you will only be able to fly in the first region “Kinglor Forest”. To fly in the 2nd and 3rd regions “Upper Plains” and “Clouded Forest” you must advance the story further. Upon arriving in a new region, the first quest you do will have you interact with a tree that lets you call the Ikran anywhere in that region. It’s all unmissable story-related stuff.
That’s all there is to it. Due to this unlocking gradually from story progress, it’s best to finish the story first before cleaning up remaining collectibles and side tasks. Then you can fly everywhere quickly.
Tips & Tricks
- After unlocking the flying mount you also unlock the 5th skill tree which is unavailable before then. This skill tree focuses on your flying mount.
- Helpful skills include the ability to fish to replenish your Ikran’s energy, reduced stamina cost, and increasing the Ikran’s energy by 20%. This way you don’t need to feed your Ikran so often, very helpful for when you want to unfog the whole map.
- The fishing skills are particularly helpful. Fly over any non-polluted water and your Ikran will automatically catch fish every few seconds. Do this to fully recharge energy. This way you will never run out of food for your Ikran.
- To fly faster you must tap X (PS5) / A (Xbox) / Space-Bar (PC). The speedboost lasts until your Ikran flaps its wings, then you must tap the button again. Each time you use the speed boost it consumes a little bit of energy.
