Elden Ring How to Reach Deeproot Depths

March 17, 2022 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Deeproot Depths is a secret hidden area in Elden Ring. This guide explains how to get there. It’s accessed from within another secret area called Nokron Eternal City.

1. Defeat Valiant Gargoyle in Nokron Eternal City

First you will have to make your way through Nokron Eternal City, which is only available after defeating Shardbearer Radahn. That’s another secret area in of itself. If you haven’t been there yet, first see the guide on How to Reach Nokron Eternal City. Then continue here.

Inside Nokron, after defeating Mimic Tear, cross the bridge and head to the far north of Nokron where you’ll see some blue jellyfish floating around. They show you the path. At the edge of the cliffs behind the Jellyfish you can drop down to reach a hidden path leading to the Valiant Gargoyle boss fight. Defeat this boss. See the video below showing the entire path.

2. Interact with Coffin behind Valiant Gargoyle

In the room where the boss fight took place, activate the site of grace “Great Waterfall Basin”. Straight in front of this site of grace, under the waterfall, is a coffin you can interact with that will trigger a cutscene and brings you to Deeproot Depths (image below).

Alternative Method through Leyndell Sewers

Alternatively, there is a second way to reach Deeproot Depths but it’s much more tricky. You must go through the sewers under Leyndell and defeat Mohg, the Omen. It’s a tricky path, see this video. Then go through the altar path behind Mohg boss and drop down to the bottom where you’ll find the site of grace “Frenzied Flame Proscription”. From this site of grace roll into the wall in the south-east of the room to reveal an illusion wall, behind is a chest and another illusion wall that leads to Deeproot Depths). This method also leads to a new site of grace called “Root-Facing Cliffs” that you couldn’t reach otherwise.

For all other secret areas check out the full Elden Ring Wiki & Strategy Guide.
