Final Fantasy 16 (XVI) The Flames of War Walkthrough

The Flames of War is the 54th main story quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI), and a subquest of Things Fall Apart. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Flames of War main scenario chapter.

• Starting Location: Martha’s Rest
• Requirement: Occurs during Things Fall Apart
• Reward: 500 XP, 1000 Gil, 45 Renown, Curiosity: Guardian’s Scarf, 100 Magicked Ash, 1 Meteorite
• Quest Info: A horde of Akashic beasts has descended upon Martha’s Rest, and it is all Matha’s hired steel can do to stand against the tide. Clive and Jill enlist to join those fighting at the Fallen Gate before the hill is overrun.
  The horde has been driving back, thanks in part to the efforts of the Guardians of the Flame who, realizing they fight for a similar cause as Martha, agree to remain at the Rest for the foreseeable future.

Objectives:

• Hurry to the Fallen Gate
• Slay the Akashic
• Descend the lift
• Slay the Akashic
• Make for Rhiannon’s Ride
• Slay the Akashic

Hurry to the Fallen Gate

After meeting with Martha, she directs you to head to the Fallen Gate. This is the entrance to Martha’s Rest down the hill to the east.

Slay the Akashic

When you arrive you’ll be attacked by a couple of waves of Akashic creatures, deal with them all to continue.

Descend the lift

After defeating the enemies you’ll automatically be taken back to the inn. You then need to head down the lift on the west side of the area.

Slay the Akashic

Here you’ll have some more waves of Akashic creatures to fight, though you’re now helped out by Wade. Deal with them all with Wade’s help.

Make for Rhiannon’s Ride

There will now be one more set of Akashic you need to deal with, this time out the north end of Martha’s Rest. You can warp to the Obelisk to get up quicker than using the lift, then follow the bridge out to the north.

Slay the Akashic

Here you’ll have the final waves of Akashic creatures to deal with. After the first two waves a plague will spawn along with some more enemies. Take them out to complete this subquest.
