Final Fantasy 16 (XVI) Things Fall Apart Walkthrough

Things Fall Apart is the 52nd main story quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Things Fall Apart main scenario chapter.

• Starting Location: The Hideaway
• Requirement: Complete Fire in the Sky
• Reward: None
• Quest Info: Upon the Phoenix’s wings, Joshua flies his allies away from the still-smoldering ruins of the Crystalline Dominion and home to the hideaway. Alas, what should have been his happy reunion with Clive and Jill is overshadowed by the roiling clouds that have spread across the realm, driving all who wallow beneath them to desperation and despair.

Objectives:

• Speak with Otto
• Speak with Vivian/Harpocrates
• Speak with Otto
• Aid Martha’s Rest/Northreach/Dalimil in its dilemma
• Subquests:
  • Why We Fight
  • The Flames of War
  • Down the Rabbit Hole
• Return to the hideaway and speak with Otto
• Travel to Krozjit Echoes

Speak with Otto

Back at the Hideaway, you can head over and speak with Otto to progress. On the way you can stop at the Blacksmith to create the next weapon from the Light Shard you just obtained.

Speak with Vivian/Harpocrates

Head over and speak with both Vivian and Harpocrates for further information about current events.

Speak with Otto

Head back and speak with Otto again.

Aid Martha’s Rest/Northreach/Dalimil in its dilemma

You now receive a set of three objectives to help out your allies at each of the three main town locations. Each of these triggers a subquest for that specific area. You can do these in any order you want, but you need to finish all three before you can continue this main quest.

Subquests:

• Why We Fight
• The Flames of War
• Down the Rabbit Hole

Return to the hideaway and speak with Otto

After completing all three subquests, you can return to the Hideaway and speak with Otto.

Travel to Krozjit Echoes

After the scenes, Joshua joins your party, and you need to head to Krozjit Echoes. Before continuing there are a number of new side quests available now that you can complete be continuing. (Note that if you want to do any of them immediately, you first need to travel to Krozjit Echoes before you can travel to other locations.)

New side quests:

• Smooth Like Butler
• An Eye for an Eye
• Not to Be Outdone (after completing A Culinary Pilgrimage)
• On Balance

When you’re ready to progress to the next main quest, select the new location The Krozjit Echoes in Dhalmekia.
