Introduction
Welcome to the Romeo is a Dead Man Trophy Guide! Suda51’s latest release, Romeo is a rather basic hack’n’slash game. You will need to complete the game on Orange Chocolate (Hard) difficulty, as well as find all collectibles (Romeo is a Dead Man Collectible Guide), fully upgrade Romeo’s stats and complete all trials in the Room of Trials. The game has New Game+, so if you want to take it easy you can do your first playthrough on a lower difficulty, or you can do it in one playthrough by starting on Orange Chocolate.
Currently 5 trophies are bugged and will stop tracking on the trophy tracker, meaning they will not unlock when meeting the requirements. Deleting the game/save and starting from scratch does not work either, so there is currently no known method to obtain them if they break.
Step 1: Complete the game on Orange Chocolate (Hard) difficulty, find all Collectibles
If you want to get the platinum in one playthrough, start the game on Orange Chocolate difficulty. Enemies will hit harder and have more health, but it is fairly manageable. While playing you will want to collect all badges, documents and research notes. It is recommended that you try out all 4 melee weapons and all 4 ranged weapons, then choose 1 of each that you like and focus on upgrading them. You will need to fully upgrade 1 weapon and there are only enough upgrades found normally to fully upgrade one weapon. You can get more upgrade materials by buying them, but that would require extra grinding.
Once you reach Chapter 4: Reinvention, you will unlock the Room of Trials, where you can refight bosses for currency and badges. You can either do this as you progress, or save them until after you finish the game.
For collectibles refer to Romeo is a Dead Man Collectible Guide.
Step 2: Cleanup
After finishing the game, you can make a Clear Game save, then load it to continue in post-game. Alternatively you can go into New Game+ and choose any difficulty, so if you want to do another playthrough or chose a lower difficulty on your first playthrough, then you can choose this option. If there are any trophies that you didn’t get while playing through the game, or if you have the Room of Trials to complete, then now is the time to do so.

In the Clinic on The Last Night, you will find WorstPink. If you speak to her and select “I want you to examine me”, it will start a multi-choice quiz, with each question having 3 choices but only 1 correct answer. This is a lot longer than you’d expect, with 99 questions that you must answer correctly. If you answer any incorrectly, you are kicked out and must start from the beginning again. Once you answer all 99 questions correctly, you’ll get a short scene and this trophy. Below are the answers to each question, with the number in brackets indicating the position in the list of answers for each question.

Romeo is a Hot Man Made all types of katsu curry |
|
Katsu Curry can be made in the Lounge onboard The Last Night. Each Katsu Curry will require a variety of ingredients to be made, which can be found throughout the game by exploring or by purchasing them from Shiroyabu. There are 10 Katsu Curry to be made, and the quality you make does not matter.

Romeo is a Wet Man Squashed an Emeraldas |
|
| Emeraldas are small orange objects you can step on to gain Emerald Flowsion. This will likely be your first trophy as there will be some directly on your path at the beginning of Chapter 1: Embers. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Poor Man Afflicted by status ailments ten times |
|
| Status ailments come in the form of viruses and malfunctions. Viruses can be gotten from enemies that are glowing, while malfunctions can be gotten by walking into glitch traps. This will likely come naturally, but you want to get this out of the way quickly, you can walk into a glitch trap over and over. | ||

Romeo is a Junk Man Retrieved 1000 space debris |
|
| BUGGED – Currently the trophy tracking for this can break, making it so it will no longer progress and not be obtainable. It is currently not known if there is a workaround.
Space Debris can be found while piloting the Last Night through space, which is generally done when flying to new locations each chapter. As you fly, you can look around the sky with the right analog, which will automatically collect any Space Debris you hover over. These will appear as multi-colored specks, whereas green ones will be food items that you can collect. If you do this every time you fly around you will likely get this naturally, but you can fly around from location to location collecting until you have enough. |

Romeo is a Tough Man Ate the orange chocolate or above and cleared the game |
|
| Orange Chocolate is the third difficulty and is available from the beginning. You can choose the difficulty after the initial combat tutorial (not directly when clicking “New Game”). Enemies can withstand more damage and hit harder, but it is fairly manageable to do this on a first playthrough. If you’re having difficulty at any point, try to upgrade Romeo’s parameters. | ||

Romeo is a Friendly Man Spoke to every member of the Space-Time Police |

In between chapters you will be able to roam around The Last Night, the Space-Time Police ship. In each room will be various Space-Time Police members you can speak to by approaching them and pressing . You will be able to do this on your first visit to The Last Night.

Romeo is a Siphon Man Acquired 100,000 Emerald Flowsion |
|
| BUGGED – Currently the trophy tracking for this can break, making it so it will no longer progress and not be obtainable. It is currently not known if there is a workaround.
Emerald Flowsion is the basic currency used for buying items. It can be obtained by killing enemies or by selling items. You will likely get 100,000 naturally over the course of the game, but you may want to get more for other unlocks. Emerald Flowsion Farming: The fastest way to acquire Emerald Flowsion is to have 2 StealJobs Bastards equipped. This Bastard when used will steal a seed from an enemy. Go to any Space- Time Pharmacy near multiple enemies (I used Subspace Hills – Final Sanctum). Then quickly cast both StealJobs in front of multiple enemies, then interact with the Space-Time Pharmacy to reset the bastard cooldown. With a high level in Item Rarity and Success Rate on the bastards, you should get a seed nearly every time, and most will be Epic seeds. Make sure to go sell them every 15 minutes or so, as you can only carry 99 of an item at a time and it won’t say when you hit that limit, so any seeds you get beyond that will be wasted. Original seeds sell for 200, Rare for 400 and Epic for 800, so you can quickly rack up Emerald Flowsion by stealing over and over. You could try using 3 or 4 StealJobs bastards, but as you can only steal 1 seed per enemy, there’s a high chance you’ll end up targeting the same enemies and not stealing anything, wasting time. |

Romeo is a Horde Man Cultivated 15 Bastards |
|
| In order to cultivate bastards, you must first find seeds in the chapters, then bring them to the garden on board The Last Night. Give them to your sister Luna to appraise them, then plant them in the patches. You can either wait out the timer for them to grow, or expedite the process by spending Emerald Flowsion. Do this 15 times. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Leash Man Defeated at least four enemies at once using Bastards |
|
| This can be done with the very first Bastards you receive, namely the SuicideAttack Bastard. This will run into the nearest enemy and explode. Find a densely packed group of 4 or more Rotters, then use the SuicideAttack Bastard. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Grounded Man Expanded your garden to the max |
|
| Once you have access to the Garden, you will start with 2 plots available. You will need to increase it to the maximum of 8 plots. Each upgrade will increase it by 2 plots and cost 1,000 Emerald Flowsion, for a total of 3,000 Emerald Flowsion. | ||

Romeo is a Weeping Man Said goodbye to a Bastard |

| When speaking to Luna, there is an option to say Goodbye. This will allow you to effectively delete Bastards, or appraised seeds. Say goodbye to any Bastard. | ||

This will likely come naturally, but if not you can go to any densely packed area with Rotters (like 1983 Deadford Shopping Mall) and quickly kill them, then respawn them by using the Space-Time Pharmacy. |

Romeo is a Tech Man Defeated an enemy with Death Conversion |
|
After getting the Venus Pin, you will unlock the Death Conversion ability. With this, you can hold on the third attack in a heavy combo to perform a Death Conversion ( , , hold ). For some weapons, you will have to spam instead of hold it. |
||
![]() |
Romeo is a Storm Man Defeated at least three enemies at once |
|
This can be done easily against Rotters, the slow-walking zombies. Let at least three of them group up, then use your Bloody Summer ability by holding down when the Blood Gauge in the top left is filled. This should instantly kill them all, as long as they are close together. |
||
![]() |
Romeo is a Sharp Man Destroyed 100 weak spots |
|
| Some enemies will have weak spots on them, in the form of flowers. Shoot them once to make them bloom, then shoot them a few more times to make them burst, dealing heavy damage and staggering the enemy. You will generally want to target these when facing enemies that have them, so you will likely get this naturally. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Tested Man Took on the Room of Trials ten times |
|
| The Room of Trials is unlocked after completing the exam in Chapter 3: Plight. Speak to SilverSox in the Trial Room and you can refight bosses, betting Emerald Flowsion in the process. Each boss has a normal and hard mode, rewarding you with a badge the first time you beat each boss on hard mode. Do this 10 times with any bet, win or lose. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Reccoa Man Cleared Palace Athene on all danger levels |
|
| Palace Athene is an optional challenge you can do, where you must complete a series of randomised rooms to unlock rewards. Palace Athene comes in four difficulties – Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard – with one difficulty being unlocked per chapter from Chapter 4 through to Chapter 7. Palace Athene can either be accessed via rifts on the space map, or rifts found within maps. The rift you take in doesn’t matter, as the rooms and enemies you fight will always be randomised regardless of which rift you enter from. You only have to complete each difficulty once, you do not need to complete them from each rift. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Flawless Man Defeated a boss without taking any damage |
|
| This is very easy against the first boss in Chapter 1: Embers. You will want to keep your distance and simply shoot at the boss. Start by destroying the weakspot on its leg, then aim for anywhere as the damage will be the same. The boss will occasionally shoot two fireballs at you, dodge the first and continue running to avoid the second. Repeat this for most of the fight and the boss will eventually start spawning rings of fire around you. Dodge out of these before they hit you, then repeat until the boss is dead. As long as you don’t get too close to the boss, it won’t do any of its harder to avoid attacks. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Bloodied Man Recovered all of your HP using Bloody Summer |
|
Bloody Summer is an ability you can use when your Blood Gauge in the top left is filled. Hold and you will perform a powerful slash, healing some health in the process. Do this when your health is nearly full and you will fully restore your health. |
||
![]() |
Romeo is a Yellow Man Defeated an enemy while suffering from the Weak Knees status ailment |
|
| Weak Knees is the mobility impairment that you get by walking into the red glitch traps. This will give you a weaker weapon while impaired. Kill a single Rotter while affected by this. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Max Man Maximized all of Romeo’s parameters |
|
| You can increase Romeo’s parameters by playing the DeadGear Cannonball game in the Training Room. It plays similar to Pac-Man, with you having to navigate a character around a maze collecting powerups. Moving around costs Emerald Flowsion, and as it is a maze with multiple routes, the exact amount of Emerald Flowsion required to collect all powerups and max Romeo’s parameters will vary. If you don’t like the route you take, you can rewind or fully reset and get your Emerald Flowsion back. With some doubling up on routes, I was able to get all powerups in 42,777 Emerald Flowsion, so expect to require around 40,000 – 50,000 to maximize the parameters. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Loyal Man Maximized all parameters for one weapon |
|
Every weapon has 4 parameters: Attack Power, Break Ability, Bloody Summer and Blood Amount. All parameters start at Level 1 and can be increased to Level 5. The cost is the same for every weapon. Fully upgrading a single weapon will cost 40 Sentrey and 39 Red Sentrey. You will get plenty of Sentreys all throughout the game, with Red Sentreys becoming more common later in the game, usually from green tesseracts. You can also buy them from Shiroyabu, or convert Space Debris into them.

Romeo is an Armed Man Unlocked all weapons |
|
| In order to unlock weapons, you must use the DeadBall Unlocker in the Training Room of The Last Night. Weapons are unlocked using Emerald Flowsion. Each weapon will cost 200 Emerald Flowsion, for a total of 1,200 to obtain all weapons.

|
| Research Notes and Documents are pieces of paper that have a white glow, making them easy to spot. These are generally found in the open and are not too difficult to find. Documents are mostly story-related, with many being unmissable. There are 26 Research Notes and 24 Documents, for a total of 50 Field Notes. | ||

Romeo is a Decorated Man Acquired all pins |
|
| Pins are buffs that give you new abilities or expand your slots, and these are automatically obtained through story progression. There are 7 Pins to be obtained. | ||

Romeo is an Encore Man Defeated all bosses twice each in any mode |
|
| There are 7 bosses in the game. All will be fought once during the story, and can be refought in the Room of Trials by speaking to SilverSox. You will need to beat each boss multiple times in the Room of Trials for badges, so this will come naturally while going for them. | ||
![]() |
Romeo is a Proven Man Cleared Boss Rush in the Room of Trials |
|
| Once you complete the game, SilverSox in the Room of Trials will have a Boss Rush challenge. As the name implies, this will pit you against all 7 bosses back-to-back. You will carry over your status between bosses, so your heals won’t replenish, your bastards cooldown will stay the same, and your Bloody Summer will remain charged. For this trophy you will only need to beat the regular boss rush, but for a badge you will need to complete the hard mode version, Boss Rush Z. Before doing Boss Rush and Boss Rush Z, it is recommended that you do all the previous trials, particularly Enhanced Phantasm Z and The Last Of The Famous Intergalactic Naked Z, as the badges from these trials are very beneficial here. It is also recommended to fully max out Romeo’s parameters.
While fighting 7 bosses in a row might sound daunting, there is a very powerful build you can use that utilises Bloody Summer to deal most of the damage, and allows you to ignore most attacks as you will want to take damage to charge Bloody Summer.
With this build, you will want to combo your FrostBolt, Nosferatu and Graha Mala Bastards when they are charged to freeze a boss and get in heavy damage while it is frozen and staggered. Whenever a boss is not in this state, you can mostly get up close and wail on them, ignoring attacks, as any damage you take will charge your Blood Gauge. The amount of damage you take is irrelevant, as it generates Blood Gauge with each hit rather than how much damage is done. When you have 3 full Blood Gauge, release 3 Bloody Summers in a row for heavy damage and to heal up any damage you took. Repeat for each boss. If you want, you can save Bloody Summer when nearing the end of a boss so you can use them immediately on the next boss. If you want you can replace Bastardization with Angel’s Face, which instead increases Bloody Summer attack power but increases damage taken. This will allow you to kill bosses faster, but the increased damage will effectively cancel out Tungsten Revolution so you might get killed if caught out by a powerful attack up close. If you’re really struggling and aren’t afraid of a little grinding, then you can grind ~550,000 Emerald Flowsion (see |

Thank you for the trophy guide. Romeo is a Dead Man seems to be a good game with a reasonable Platinum trophy that I want to play eventually, but definitely not until all the glitched trophies are fixed. Also, no PS5 physical edition means I will probably wait until there is a discount on the digital version or for it to get added to PS Plus.

Great, glitched trophies.. This is annoying now i can’t buy it day 1
Alex says
Could you play the first playthrough doing everything on normal or easy and then at the end of that playthrough, grind the money and grab the Bloody Summer Mania Ability and take it into NG+ and just blast through it really quickly?
Archavia says
Yes, you could do that if you prefer.
Alex says
Also if more people could try contacting Grasshopper Manufacturer about the glitched trophies to issue a patch that would be helpful to get more eyes on it

Is there any way that you can post the completed Cannonball map somewhere? I’ve been working on a route for hours now.
