In Outlast 2 you can use bandages to heal yourself. This guide shows all possible bandage locations (normal difficulty). Please note that higher difficulties have fewer bandages. For example on insane difficulty you’ll only find a small fraction of the bandages listed below. Furthermore, you cannot pick up additional bandages if your inventory is already full (the limit is 3 bandages) and they stop showing up in the game world.
For the trophy and achievement “Heal the Sick” you must heal yourself 10 times with bandages.
This list is based on normal difficulty. Higher difficulties have fewer bandages!
Chapter: Genesis
Objective: Find Lynn
- The first Outlast 2 bandage location is in the area with the witch boss (the first enemy you encounter in the game). There’s a house with an open window. Climb through the window to find a bandage inside. Lure the witch to the other end of the area so she loses track of you.
- After escaping the witch you go through a barn and reach a small village with two enemies. In a house on the right side is a bandage. You can enter through the open window.
- Objective: Get to the chapel
- After escaping the school dream you’ll meet a peasant who gives you shelter in his cellar. In the cellar there’s a bandage near the bed.
- After the leaving the peasant’s house (where the last bandage was found) you enter a rocky area and must walk through some waist-high water. After leaving the water go uphill to locate a bandage inside a wooden shack (just before the cornfields).
- When you go through the cornfields (where many enemies are searching for you with flashlights) there’s a windmill in the middle of the area. Under the windmill is a bandage and battery.
Objective: Get through the barn - On the lower floor of the barn, there’s a side room with a bandage and battery location inside.
Objective: Find a way to start the elevator - You’ll reach a village with some enemies roaming around. In a house on the left side of that village is a bandage and battery.
Objective: Get to the chapel - While running away from the cultist (after the school dream) you will enter a kitchen area with a bandage.
- After escaping the crazy villagers you’ll arrive in the basement of a church which contains one bandage.
- When exiting the church (where the last bandage was found) you reach a bigger settlement with a woman singing in the town square. Look for a well-lit building on the left side of the road, there’s a bandage to be found here.
- After escaping the witch in the village and climbing over the fence, search the first house on the right side.
Objective: Find a path to the mine - After escaping the water mill there’s a wooden shack with lights turned on and a dead cow in front of it. Some planks are missing from the barn, giving you a way in by crouching or crawling. Here you’ll find a bandage, battery and document (the witch is also patrolling this area).
- On the upper floor of the slaughterhouse where you must obtain the hook.
Chapter: Job
Objective: Find a different path to the mine
- A little while after your crash landing (falling off the bridge) you’ll have to crawl through a tree trunk (unmissable story part). Afterwards turn to the right and go a little hill to find this bandage near a corpse.
- Shortly after the last bandage you’ll have to drop down a cliff and end up at a settlement of sick miners. They don’t attack you. On the right side of their settlement is a cave (four sick miners are bathing there). Climb up the wall at the end of this cave to discover a bandage on top.
Objective: Find a way out of here - After interacting with the computer, proceed to the next hallway that is now unlocked. Search in Room 121 B.
Objective: Not available - After the crucifixion there’s one bandage in the tent in front of you…
- …and another one by a campfire on the left side (2 enemies are near it and will attack on sight).
- A little further on, after using a bandage and climbing up some rocks. You’ll have to drop down the rocks on the other side and there’s a campfire with a battery and bandage near it.
- Same area — just a few meters from the last bandage location. Check inside the hut.
- Two bandages are found in the house after escaping the archer boss (location #22 + #23 in same spot). This is the house where you also retrieve your camera.

Objective: Find a different path to the mine - After surviving another school visit you are teleported back into the real world. The room you spawn in has a document, two batteries and a bandage.
- Same area, but in a different house.
- While running away from the archer you’ll come by a campfire with a ghoul enemy. There’s a bandage to be found here.
- Twenty seconds after the last bandage you’re going to climb up some rocks. This bandage is on the rock – you’ll run into it automatically.
Objective: Find a rope to go down - After the room with the missing rope (where you’re supposed to rapel down but the rope is missing), there are some houses with enemies patrolling around them. In the second house is a bandage.
- Same area, but in a house on the opposite side (it’s on a little hill).
Objective: Find a way out of here - During the school visit look for a hatch on the right side of the yard (outside area, on the floor). After using the hatch go through the long underground corridor and into the cafeteria. In the caefteria there’s a bandage and battery close together.
Chapter: Lamentations
Objective: Find a way to cross the lake
- Shortly after leaving the school (where the last bandage was found) you’ll come to lake with a beach, some docks and buildings. Go through the buildings and up the hill, there’s a corpse with a bandage here (before going up the flight of stairs to the mountain top).
- In the next area where you are supposed to use the raft, there are two houses by the beach. The house on the right contains a bandage.
Objective: Get back to your raft - Shortly after your raft crashes you must push a tree. Walk over the trunk and you’ll see a stone with blood writing saying “LOVE SET US FREE”. In front of this stone is a bandage.
Chapter: Judges
Objective: Find the mine entrance
- Immediately after the school visit in the room where you return to the real world.
- After entering the mine facility it’s in the third room.
Objective: Find the mine entrance - Once you leave the school, head into the next building (back in the real world). You’ll encounter two enemies in a dark room. Find a way past them and go upstairs where a bandage is located.
Objective: Find a way out of here - Yet another school visit – this bandage can be obtained in the second women’s room (after going through a dark room with a flickering TV). It’s not the women’s room at the start of the school sequence. It’s a little bit later just before entering the library.
- After making it through the maze of bookshelves in the library you will end up in front of a well-lit room. Inside is a bandage (after escaping the demon lady in the bookshelf maze).
Objective: Find the mine entrance - After leaving the school there’s a bandage in front of you (back in real world).
Objective: Get inside the Elevator - After being chased by enemies you are supposed to activate the elevator to the mines. There are two bandages in front of the elevator.
- See last location (there are two in the exact same spot)
Chapter: Leviticus
Objective: Find Lynn
- After entering the mine (after the elevator comes crashing down). Immediately after exiting the elevator it’s on a table (“Sancti Sepulchri” trophy / achievement unlocks here).
- Where you have to push the mine cart head down the path on the right side. At the end you’ll find a room with a bandage.
- Now return to the mine cart, push it away and go the opposite path. You’ll come to a campfire. To the right side of the campfire you can crawl through a small cave. Once you can stand up again the bandage is straight in front of you.
- While trying to escape from the cultist boss lady you must turn off the power in a flooded area. There’s a bandage and battery near the electric cables that you must disable.
- After escaping the cultist boss lady by disabling the power you have to push another mine cart. Before pushing it turn around and look for the bandage at the other end of the mine.
- Push the aforementioned mine cart out of the way. The path behind it leads to a bandage and battery.
