The Heel of History is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the The Heel of History side mission.
- Starting Location: Vernworth > Slums (outside The Gracious Hand building)
- Quest Giver: Kendrick
- Requirement: Donate food + 1000 Gold to Kendrick
- Reward: Panacea + 3000 Gold
- Quest Description: Malcolm’s absence caused quite a stir, but if not for the boy’s curiosity, a discovery might never have been made: an archive, hidden in the vaults beneath the Gracious Hand and piled high with tomes of eld. Buy why was this place sealed.
Objectives:
- Determine Malcolm’s Location
- Report back to Kendrick
- Search the Vaults for Malcolm
- Follow Malcolm
Starting Location: The Heel of History
To start this quest, talk to Kendrick in the Slums of Vernworth. Donate him Food + 1000 Gold. Both things must be done for him to give this quest. In what order you give the donations doesn’t matter.
Determine Malcolm’s Location
Kendrick will task you with finding a missing boy named Malcolm. He was last seen looking for treasure. To get his location you must talk to all 3 children in the search area.
Child #1 – Found outside, opposite “The Gracious Hand” building. He’s kneeling on the side of the path looking at some rubble.
Child #2 – Found outside, follow the path slightly east of “The Gracious Hand” building. There you’ll see the kid on the lookout platform facing the ocean.
Child #3 – Inside “The Gracious Hand” building, in the lobby where you enter, talk to the girl. If she’s not there wait for her to walk in. If you already talked to the other 2 kids she should be there.
Report back to Kendrick
After talking to all 3 kids, talk to the quest giver Kendrick again. He’ll walk up and down the path in the Slums where you met him.
Search the Vaults for Malcolm
Follow Kendrick to the broken tower. He will blow up the rubble blocking the entrance. Head inside and follow the underground dungeon all the way to the end. You can only go in one direction, it’s a linear path forward.
Follow Malcolm
After finding Malcolm, follow him to the very end of the dungeon. There you will find A Place with Plenty of Tomes, which is an underground library needed for Main Quest: The Caged Magistrate.
This finishes The Heel of History side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
