Hogwarts Legacy The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom Walkthrough

February 6, 2023 by FranciRoosters 2 Comments

The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom is the twenty-eighth main quest in Hogwarts Legacy. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom Main Mission.

Requirement: having completed The Helm of Urtkot, Level 15
Reward: 260 XP, Conjuration Spellcraft (x2), the Nab-Sack, Jobberknoll and Mooncalf beasts, 2 Collection Conjurations, :bronze: Loom for Improvement
Quest Info: In the Room of Requirement, Deek showed me the nab-sack, which I can use to transport magical beasts. We then went to the Highlands and rescued a Puffskein, a Jobberknoll, and a Mooncalf. It was dangerous, as poachers were active in the area. When I returned to the Room, it provided me with a vivarium where I can keep my rescued beasts. I also learned that beasts provide magical materials when properly cared for. After that, Deek gave me a spellcraft for an Enchanted Loom which I can use to enhance my clothing with magical materials. He said many other beasts will provide even rarer materials. I’m glad to have somewhere I can bring beasts to keep them safe from poachers.

Objectives:

  • Check in with Deek
  • Let Deek Know When You Are Ready to Leave
  • Follow Deek
  • Rescue a Puffskein
  • Talk to Deek
  • Meet Deek Near the Joberknoll Habitat
  • Rescue a Jobberknoll
  • Talk to Deek
  • Meet Deek Near the Mooncalf Habitat
  • Rescue a Mooncalf
  • Talk to Deek
  • Return to the Room of Requirement
  • Meet Deek Inside the New Creation
  • Release Rescued Beasts Into the Vivarium
  • Collect a Jobberknoll Feather
  • Collect Puffskein Fur
  • Collect Mooncalf Fur
  • Speak with Deek
  • Exit the Vivarium
  • Conjure an Enchanted Loom

  • Upgrade an Item of Clothing
  • Tell Deek You Have Used the Enchanted Loom

Starting Location: The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom

We’ve retrieved the helmet of Lodgok, but we must now head back into the Room of Requirement to learn more about the care of magical beasts.

Check in with Deek

Warp to the Room of Requirement floo flame in the Secret Rooms section of the castle and speak with Deek, the house-elf.

Let Deek Know When You Are Ready to Leave

Talk to Deek again if you’re ready to leave.

Follow Deek

Follow Deek into the countryside to reach a Puffskein habitat. He will also explain how the Nab-Sack works.

Rescue a Puffskein

First, press :right: and then assign your Nab-Sack to your Spell Set, ideally together with other magical beats items. Then, get close to a Puffskein and make sure its silhouette is highlighted. Then, press :r2: and the button you assigned to the Nab-Sack to start the rescue. During the rescue, press the button prompt to complete it.

Talk to Deek

Now return to Deek and talk to him. Next up, Jobberknolls.

Meet Deek Near the Joberknoll Habitat

Fly to the next quest marker and talk to Deek.

Rescue a Jobberknoll

Continue to the next quest marker and cast Levioso to slow down a Jobberknoll, then use the Nab-Sack to rescue it. Complete the QTE to finalize the rescue.

Talk to Deek

Now return to Deek and talk to him. Next up, Mooncalves.

Meet Deek Near the Mooncalf Habitat

Fly to the next quest marker and talk to Deek.

Rescue a Mooncalf

Mooncalves only spawn at night, so open up your map and press :r3: to advance the time. If the Mooncalf scampers away, you can use Accio on it to pull it closer to you.

Talk to Deek

Now return to Deek and talk to him.

Return to the Room of Requirement

Time to return to the Room of Requirement. So, open up your map and warp to Hogwarts Castle > Secret Rooms > Room of Requirement.

Meet Deek Inside the New Creation

Step through the vivarium gate when ready.

Release Rescued Beasts Into the Vivarium

Tap :r1: to open the Beast Management Menu and select a beast from the Inventory to add. Select the three beasts you’ve rescued to start a cutscene that releases them into the vivarium.

Collect a Jobberknoll Feather

Look for the Jobberknoll bird inside the vivarium (white dots in the Minimap) and when its body is highlighted feed and brush it to collect a feather.

Collect Puffskein Fur

Look for the Puffskein inside the vivarium (white dots in the Minimap) and when its body is highlighted feed and brush it to collect some of its fur.

Collect Mooncalf Fur

Look for the Mooncalf inside the vivarium (white dots in the Minimap) and when its body is highlighted feed and brush it to collect some of its fur.

Speak with Deek

With all three materials collected, return to Deek to talk to him.

Exit the Vivarium

Now exit the Vivarium and return to the Room of Requirement.

Conjure an Enchanted Loom

Here, choose an empty wall and conjure and Enchanted Loom. As a refresher, press :right: and then assign the Conjuring Spell to a slot, ideally in the same Spell Set as the Brush, the Feed, and the Nab-Sack. Then, hold :r2: / :rt: and the assigned slot to open the Conjuring inventory. From here, hover over the Utility menu (wrench icon) and select the Enchanted Loom (costs 8 Moonstones) to conjure it. Customize it any way you like then :x: / :a: to confirm the conjuration.

Add a Trait to an Item of Clothing

Now approach the Enchanted Loom and press :square: / :x1: to open the Enchanted Loom inventory. Traits allow gear to add or upgrade a secondary stat. Multiple small upgrades can yield a meaningful boost in combat power. New beasts can be rescued at Beast Dens or unlocked in quests. New Trait recipes can be collected in Bandit Camps. In the inventory, the pieces of gear with a cerulean border are the ones you have currently equipped. Hover over any piece of gear you want to improve and then press :triangle: to view the traits. From here, select any Trait and then hold :x: to weave it. This will also unlock :bronze: Loom for Improvement.

Upgrade an Item of Clothing

Now repeat the same process, but this time press :square: / :x1: instead of :triangle: / :y: to open the Upgrade menu. To finalize the upgrade, hold :x: / :a: .

Tell Deek You Have Used the Enchanted Loom

Now report back to Deek.

This finishes The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom in Hogwarts Legacy.
