Monster Hunter Wilds How to Capture Flashflies

February 26, 2025 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Flashflies are an endemic lifeform in Monster Hunter Wilds, required for the Flash Course side mission. After accepting the Flash Course side mission you must catch a Flashfly using the Capture Net, then return to the quest giver.

Flash Course Side Mission Start:

Flash Course side quest starts by talking to your Palico, becomes available gradually as you progress in the story and increase your Hunter Rank. You must first do another quest for your Palico to capture a Vigorwasp.

Flashflies Location:

Flashflies can be found in every region and are automatically marked on the map by a yellow icon. You can highlight it by opening the map > press D-Pad Right > Filter Icons (white herb icon) > scroll down to Flashflies (yellow icon). You can put a marker on it by pressing the Right Stick, then your Seikret (mount) will automatically lead you there. They look like bright yellow glowing sparks, used to stun monsters. If none show up in the Filter Icons section, try on a different map. You must equip the “Capture Net” and shoot it at the Vigorwasp to capture it. The capture net can be equipped from your inventory, or you can customize the Radial Menu in the Items & Equipment screen (or in your tent) to quickslot it. After catching the Flashfly return to your Palico to finish the quest.
