Introduction

Welcome to the The First Berserker: Khazan Trophy Guide! Set in the DNF Universe, you’ll play as Khazan who is on a revenge mission to bring justice to those who wronged him. The game is heavily inspired by games such as Dark Souls and Nioh, hitting a lot of the same gameplay mechanics, while bringing its own unique spins to the table.

Step 1: (1 Playthrough Path) Expert Difficulty, All Collectibles, All Bonus Missions, The First Berserker Ending

If you want to complete the platinum in a single playthrough, make sure you play on Expert difficulty and DO NOT summon a single Spirit of Advocacy. This will make the game a lot harder, but it can be done in 1 playthrough. If you want to see the 2 playthrough path, skip to Step 2 and 3 instead.

You’ll want to focus on getting all the collectibles and completing all Bonus Missions, which will already put you at 2/3 of the requirements for getting The First Berserker Ending. Make sure you’re following :gold: THE FIRST BERSERKER steps to get the ending.

Once you reach the final boss (or the Corrupted Lounge Blade Nexus, in case you mess up the steps for the ending), upload your save to the cloud.

After finishing the game, you should unlock :gold: THE FIRST BERSERKER, :silver: The Expert’s Journey, and :silver: Standing Alone. Afterwards, you can redownload your save from the cloud, revert the difficulty to Beginner or Normal and beat the final boss again to unlock :silver: The Challenger’s Journey. There are reports that this step can be skipped as some people have also unlocked :silver: The Challenger’s Journey while playing on Expert difficulty, but others seem to not unlock it.

If you don’t have PS+ to upload your save, you’ll have to go into New Game+ to unlock :silver: The Challenger’s Journey if it didn’t unlock for you when beating the game on Expert.

Step 2: (2 Playthrough Path) Expert Difficulty With Summoning, All Collectibles, All Bonus Missions, The First Berserker Ending

For the 2 playthrough method, you’ll want to play on Expert difficulty, while summoning Spirits of Advocacy to help you during boss fights. This will make sure you unlock :silver: The Expert’s Journey while also having an easier time.

Other than summoning Spirits of Advocacy, this playthrough is exactly the same as the 1 playthrough path, except needing to upload your save to the cloud, though it’s still recommended in case you mess up getting The First Berserker ending.

Step 3: (2 Playthrough Path) Beginner / Normal Difficulty Speedrun on a New Save Without Summoning

For the second playthrough, you’ll need to start a whole new save as :silver: Standing Alone does not unlock on New Game+ if you summoned at all on that save file.

During this playthrough, you’ll also want to clean up any other miscellaneous trophies you missed, or try going for The First Berserker ending again if you missed it during your first playthrough.

You can replay the bonus missions after finishing the game and go to the last Blade Nexus of each bonus mission to defeat the boss at the end (or collect all the Jarlings in the Jar Enthusiast bonus mission). There is no need to replay the entire bonus mission.

Refer to The First Berserker: Khazan All Bonus Missions Guide.

The First Berserker: Khazan Trophy Guide Standing Alone
Reached the ending without summoning a Spirit of Advocacy.
Silver
*MISSABLE*

Towards the end of the Forgotten Temple Mission, you’ll be introduced to Spirits of Advocacy and Revenants of Adversity. Spirits of Advocacy are spirits you can summon outside of boss rooms that will help you during boss fights by interacting with their signs and Revenants of Adversity are evil spirits that you can summon that will try to kill you.

For this trophy you can’t summon a single Spirit of Advocacy until you’ve beaten the game. Summoning a Revenant of Adversity is fine and doesn’t negate the trophy. The Spirit of Advocacy summon point will be a golden mist, while a Revenant of Adversity summon point will be a red mist. You cannot go for this trophy in New Game+ either, as the game will remember that you summoned a spirit even in New Game+, so you’ll need to start a whole new save.

The First Berserker: Khazan Trophy Guide The Challenger’s Journey
Reached the ending.
Silver
*MISSABLE*

This trophy unlocks when beating the game on Beginner or Normal difficulty. There have been reports of people unlocking the trophy on Expert difficulty as well, but not everyone seems to unlock it.

The First Berserker: Khazan Trophy Guide The Expert’s Journey
Reached the ending after a difficult journey.
Silver
*MISSABLE*

This trophy unlocks when beating the game on Expert difficulty. If at any point you lower your difficulty to Beginner or Normal, or start on either of those difficulties, you’ll need to make an entire new save in order to attempt the trophy as you cannot raise your difficulty back up to Expert.

The First Berserker: Khazan Trophy Guide THE FIRST BERSERKER
Reached ‘THE FIRST BERSERKER’ ending.
Gold
*MISSABLE*

In order to get The First Berserker ending, you’ll have to do a few things first.

  1. You’ll need to complete certain Bonus Missions. It’s unknown the exact ones you need to complete in order to unlock the ending, but since you need to complete them all in order to unlock :silver: Countless Tales anyway, it’s best and safer to complete all of them.
  2. You’ll need to collect all 15 Golden Collection Items. You’ll know you’ve collected them all once you unlock :silver: Ozma’s Past.
  3. In the Master of Chaos Mission, once you reach the Corrupted Lounge Blade Nexus, you’ll find Daphrona there. Talk to her and when prompted a dialogue option, make sure you choose the bottom option, “I must know the truth”. As a precaution to avoid mistakes, you should make a backup save in PS+ Cloud at this point before making your choice.
  4. If you did everything correctly up to this point, the final boss should have 3 phases. If he only has 2 phases, then you didn’t do one of the above steps correctly.
  5. After defeating the boss, you’ll be put into a room where you interact with objects to reminisce about the past. Once you reach the Diary, MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE OUT OF IT. Do not read any of the entries in the diary. It is unknown if this is a requirement or a bug, but reading the entries in the diary will cause the trophy to not unlock.

If you missed getting the ending on your current playthrough, you’ll have to start another playthrough on New Game+ in order to attempt the ending again if you didn’t make a backup save.

    Easy mode is difficult?

Yes, easy mode isn’t really easy. It’s more easier than normal mode but still a bit challenging 🙂

I heard that easy mode is as hard as many games from software

    • ObsiEez says

All Easy Mode does is make you take slightly less damage & deal slightly more damage. If you struggle with these types of games, Easy Mode won’t make a difference

I can confirm what the others said. Decided to kill the final boss on easy first before recovering my save to get the other trophy out of the way.
I actually can’t tell the difference at all. Both fights went about the same for me. I guess what you can do on easy, you can do on normal as well.

    “Countless Tales

This trophy is currently glitched and will not unlock for a majority of players for unknown reasons.”

Does this mean the platinum is currently impossible to obtain?

I would like to know that too. Because if it’s not obtainable i have no intention to buy the game right now, start playing and have to redo it in order to get it.

No, I just got the platinum. All you have to do is complete every side mission without exiting the game. If you already beat the game and have all the checkpoints unlocked it’s really easy. It took me around 30 minutes. Just fast travel to the last checkpoint of each mission and finish it.

    • Mindz says

      May 5, 2025 at 4:28 am

Do you need to complete every side mission or just the bosses of every side mission? I am all in for every side mission boss cause I already have a blade nexus there but if you need to play everything then you in some areas you need to get the keys to unlock the doors and then there bunch bs that is in the way I can’t just do that again.. please tell me I need to defeat only bosses please please please

Is the Bonus missions repeatable? If Bonus mission glitched for trophies, is it possible to replay those?
Or are we in mercy of cloud saves?

You can replay all missions as long as you don’t start New Game+ after beating the game. You should be able to replay the Bonus Missions in question to get the trophies once they’re fixed, but that’s still up in the air.

8/10 difficulty ? Is it really that difficult? After I finished the demo it didn’t feel that hard.

Difficulty is subjective to the player, so it might be easier, might be harder. The demo barely scratches the surface of the games difficulty however, especially if you decide to go for the 1 playthrough method vs the 2 playthrough method.

Hi, thx for the guide. Quick question : it is 60h for step 1 or step 2+3? If not how long it will take for only step 1?

    Reply
    • ObsiEez says

      March 25, 2025 at 12:41 am

60 Hours for Step 1, not counting difference in skill levels that might make the game shorter or longer from player to player. Step 2+3 should also be around the same length since most players should struggle less, which would mean they save time overall. It’s completely up to the player which method they’d prefer to use, but Step 1 might take longer than step 2+3 combined depending on skill level.

Hi! What do you mean the bonus missions are repeatable? If I complete them in the first game, if before the final boss then the patch comes out can I go back and recomplete the bonus missions as many times as I want?

    • ObsiEez says

      March 25, 2025 at 1:19 am

The entire game is mission based & when you’re in the hub, you can select any mission you want, including main missions, and replay them from any of the Blade Nexus points. You can also do this after you beat the final boss, as long as you don’t start New Game+ when prompted to after the credits. You can start New Game+ at a later point by talking to an NPC in the hub instead.

For your suggested Spear Build which primary stats (endurance, vitality etc.) should we focus on and prioritize on leveling up over the course of the game ?

Vitality (For HP), Endurance (For Stamina), & Proficiency (For Damage). I personally don’t know what any of the soft or hard caps are, but once I hit 45 in both Vitality & Stamina I stopped investing into them & started putting everything in Proficiency instead.

No, what I’m “implying” is to check on the next guides page because games frequently get updated and added there 🙂
For some games I won’t know until closer to release when I have them in hand.

Do you recommend a normal playthrough with summoning and on NG+ do a “easy” playthrough, not summoning and true ending? Is the true ending more doable on normal with summon or easy without it? The character’s lvl carries into the NG+? Thank you for the guide!!

I recommend doing the true ending on whichever playthrough you’re basically going for 100% on, which I personally recommend being your first playthrough. So if you’re going the 2 playthrough route, I would recommend doing the true ending on Normal with summons. & yes, levels & gear carry into NG+

Ozma has a third phase/ form in the true ending path? Like a full third health bar? He has to be one of the toughest final bosses in a Soulsborne game.

Does he transform into a giant monster for his third phase? His first two forms are pretty normal sized so maybe he transforms into a giant demon in his third phase? Or does he become human again?

Yes, he has a 3rd phase with an whole new health bar. His 3rd phase is mostly just a repeat of Phase 2 with a couple of new attacks through in, but he takes insane amounts of damage & stuns really quickly in that phase. It’s suppose to be more cinematic that a challenge

No you can’t. When selecting Easy difficulty, you cannot raise the difficulty to Normal, which is why to earn both you need to start on Normal. You also need to upload your save to cloud storage as the game will automatically autosave once beating the boss if you plan on doing it all in 1 playthrough

While difficulty is purely subjective, I personally think if you’re going for Normal difficulty with no spirits, it’s harder than the Fromsoft games & one of the harder games in the genre in general, which is why for your average player it’s probably a better idea to go for the 2 playthrough method, especially if you don’t have PS+ to upload your cloud to the save anyway since you’d then need 2 playthroughs anyway

Everything transfer into NG+. but it’s highly recommended you do a lot of the trophies either way on your first playthrough as you get a lot of useful things that’ll make your playthrough overall easier. Plus since the entire game is mission based & linear, you’re not really going out of your way too much

Yes, you can summon the red ones. Summoning the gold ones outside of boss doors voids the trophy. Though fighting the red ones is pointless as you get pretty trash gear as a reward & stuff to summon/upgrade the spirits you summon, which you won’t be doing in the playthrough anyway

    • Mitch says

      July 2, 2025 at 10:42 am

This is not true. It’s hands down the best way to get Elemental Resistance Necklaces and Rings. Which will help most people when fighting bosses. They’re perfect to practise Reflection on (before you attempt to use it on bosses.) Also Revenants can drop gear that’s of higher level then you can currently craft which in turn will raise your overal gear level if used to upgrade your equipment. Revenants scale with your level which means even backtracking to lower level missions to kill them is worth doing. Like with the Nioh games I farmed them for hours on end, day after day, so far I’ve killed over 800 of them and it never gets boring.

  22. Jerry says

There is a super broken glitch rn. If u have the gear from the deluxe version. During ur Phantom Form, change ur gear to the deluxe version’s gear. It automatically reset the phantom form bar, which means u can use the phantom form as long as u want. I beat the true ending Ozma with this glithch and it just become super easy.

I figured it out why the trophy is glitch now. Since the game can’t pop trophy offline and u have to do all trophy online,if u quit the game, your bonus mission progress will be reset. So fo the trohphy like Undying Loyalty,u have to finish both mission in one go without closing the game or disconnect. I got all three glitch trophies in this way. However, for the all bonus mission,i guess for now u have to finish them all in one go,I may just wait for the patch for this one.

Really? Going to go test this theory right now, if it ends up working for me as well, I’ll add it to the guide.

Did you do this from a fresh save, I.E complete every bonus mission for the first time in a single sitting, or by just going to the final Blade Nexus of each bonus mission & getting the “Mission Completed” screen on all of them in a single sitting?

    • Jerry says

      March 30, 2025 at 5:05 am

Here is the order u need to complete for certain trophies.
      The order:Last Sentinel→Crimson Trace→Centurial Order
The Hidden Laboratory:Why Have You Forsaken Us?→Valus’s Axe →Remnants of Chaos

    • Jerry says

      March 30, 2025 at 5:06 am

I did this in my own save, not a fresh save. Basically I go to the final blade nexus and finish the bonus mission, it will count.

    • ObsiEez says

      March 30, 2025 at 6:26 am

Finished testing out this now, & I can 100% confirm that this worked. You can replay the missions from the last Blade Nexus & just beat the boss at the end (For Jar Enthusiast you must collect the jars again however). You don’t need to do them in order, as long as every bonus mission is completed in 1 sitting, you’ll get all the bonus mission related trophies.

It seems to work this way because whenever you reset or close the game it resets the counter for the bonus missions and the specific bonus mission trophies aren’t actually tied to completing the last mission in the chain, but to complete all bonus missions in the chain which would also explain why Undying Loyalty was the hardest one to get as the missions for that trophy span nearly the entire game. Same with The Hidden Laboratory.

His difficulty really depends on your weapon of choice, build, & overall skill, but I’d personally say he was the hardest boss for me, even pre-patch. But yes, if you struggle you could do that and have a back up save, however the summons that late in the game are pointless if you haven’t been upgrading them since they’ll die in like 2-3 hits. So if you do plan to do that, you should probably grind the Remnants of Adversity in order to get the items to upgrade the spirits.

    • Finch says

      April 3, 2025 at 12:30 am

Ah yes you are right of course. I didn’t bother with them at all so it’s rather pointless. I guess pain and suffering is my only option. I am using a spear build and i think i am decent but somewhat passive until i get comfortable with the boss and the moveset. I saw someone using a skill to prolong the duration of exhaustion for the boss and it seemed pretty broken if you can accumulate spirit/fury in time. It’s the six piece bonus from the soul eater set. Do you reckon it might be better than the fallen lord’s set?

Update: so anyone that really wants to get the platinum for first berserker khazan but couldn’t because your like me that refuse to play a brand new save file to get the “standing alone” trophy there is hope, the devs in the discord stated this = “When the patch related to the ‘Standing Alone’ achievement goes live, we’ll reset the history of Soul Assist summons. From that point on, if you complete the game without summoning any spirits, you’ll be able to earn the achievement. Now, for players who have already cleared up to NG++ (New Game Plus Plus), don’t worry — you’ll still be able to earn the achievement. All you’ll need to do is defeat the final boss again (we won’t mention the name here to avoid spoilers — thank you for understanding), and the achievement will be granted. After that, even if you didn’t meet the condition in your first playthrough, as long as you don’t summon in NG+, the achievement will unlock when you reach the ending.”

What about if I haven’t summoned on my first easy playthrough will I be able to change difficulty to normal on new game plus and get the trophy for finishing the game on normal? Or do I have to start a new playthrough for normal?

Just finished the game and unlocked the first Berserker trophy but Ozma’s Past trophy didn’t unlock for me. Obviously I have all 15 golden collectible items since I got the ending but that trophy never popped. I tried reading all of them collectibles in my inventory but that didn’t work either. Also, the the trophy for defeating Reese didn’t unlock after beating her. I’ll go try to beat her again and see if that hopefully unlocks the trophy. Is this an issue with the latest update?

Yes, you can get it on a brand new save on Easy difficulty. Though at this rate they confirmed that the NG+ thing is unintended, so if you want you can also wait for a patch, though who knows when that’ll be

Hello, I’m looking for the epic collections. There are 15 of them. I have 11, but I have a problem. The last 4 are nowhere to be found. I looked at the Powerpyx guide for the location. They are not in the places mentioned. I’m missing the day of the black moon 2 and 3. Reese 3 and Prophecy 1. Is this a bug?

I unlocked these trophy’s after I beat the final boss , also I switched to easy mode to clear the side missions faster because the game is crushing a lot on loading screen when entering the mission , which sucks.

I just beat the final boss and popped The First Bezerker, The Expert’s Journey, The Challenger’s Journey and Standing Alone all at the same time.

Not sure if they’ve patched it but seems like the difficulty trophies stacked so I didn’t have to back up to ps+ for the easy trophy ending. Might be worth updating the guide if this is now the same for everyone.

Fortunately there is a big patch coming tomorrow that will fix many of these issues. The big one I’m looking forward too is getting stand alone on ng+. Switching from normal to easy at that point too wont void any trophies as the summon counter will reset. So, just as it is with most soulsbourne games you can steamroll with optimal gear through easy mode to get the trophy/achievement now. It will also fix many of the bonus mission related trophies as well.

Hi Team, Great Guide as always.

    I’m in normal difficulty , 3 phases VS OZMA ( running 1 Playthrough ) and I have a back-up save
If I summon an ally ( spirit of advocacy ) miss the trophy “Standing Alone” and I try to kill OZMA.

    Then finish the game.
revert back my save , play on easy ( So normally the system does not “know” that I have summoned a spirit yet , finish in Easy .

will I have my Platinium ??

Just FYI I completed the berserker ending on normal with summoning active then after the game, before new game plus I uploaded the game to the cloud. Idk why really. I then loaded in to ‘continue game’ and the standing alone trophy popped by glitch. So now I have the platinum yet I used summoning throughout and only did one play through.

I messed up and choose “I want to speak to him” versus “the truth”.

If I just change location and come back to this one from the start, would it let me pick the correct dialogue?

If not, is my only option ng+ and do i need to do the bonus missions since I already collected everything?

Kind of frustrating I didn’t see the 3rd dialogue option

The Frst Berserker trophy is still bugged for me. I exit the diary immediately and let it play out. Nothing.

I later realized I was missing two gold collectibles/Ozamas Past trophy after picking the dialogue option. I backed up save and got them and defeated him again still no trophy. Is this why it’s bugged for me? Like was I supposed to have everything first before talking to her?

I don’t know if this is mentioned in any of the above comments but most (if not all) trophies are fixed now (didn’t dare to check the Diary issue after the final boss though). Everything popped as it should. Even the trophy for “easy” ending popped when doing the “THE FIRST BERSERKER” ending so it is no issue doing everything in one run anymore. At least it worked flawlessly for me.

Hello, saw on another forum guide that to obtain the trophy “The Expert’s Journey” u have to FINISH the game on Expert difficulty. “You can play on normal until the 4th region, before the first mission in this region you can switch the difficulty to Expert and the trophy will be yours.” Not sure how true this is

I can confirm that as of September 2025, you don’t have to do all the side missions on. Single playthrough. Also, after completing the game I got the trophies for both expert completion and normal completion. Did not have to defeat final boss again using the save file workaround.

It was hard to find clear and recent information on Expert’s Journey so, as of December 2025, this is what I can confirm (without spoiler):
Beating the boss of the 15th main mission automatically starts the 16th and last main mission of the game.
I played the whole game up to the last checkpoint of mission 15 on normal difficulty, switched to expert just before fighting the boss, then finished the game in expert and got the trophy (as well as Challenger’s journey). Some people say you can switch the difficulty later (like just before the final boss), but no one seemed to confirm so I didn’t take the chance. Boss 15 is not that hard anyway (especially considering you need to beat the final boss which is much harder) and you can speedrun the entire mission 16 without killing a single ennemy in like 15-20 minutes, so it did not change much. Very likely, you can exit mission 16 as soon as possible, switch to expert then, and restart it (maybe launch another mission first to reset the mission state), I don’t see why this wouldn’t work, but can’t confirm 100%.
And since I’ve seen the question, yes you can summon and get expert trophy, but it will void the no summon trophy, obviously. That being said, summons quite suck against boss 15 and 16. Since I had saved on the cloud I thought I’d use summons to make my life easier on expert then do the trophy on normal, but the summon got obliterated in no time making zero difference, so don’t bother.

Just so everyone knows. I just got the EXPERT trophy. I beat the game on normal. Did a NG+ speed run on normal, then switched the difficulty to expert JUST BEFORE the Reese fight and played out the rest of the game on expert and got the trophy no problems. (Screw Ozma NG+ expert btw)
Did this on 1-28-26 just for a date reference. Good luck everyone who is still going for this plat!

    16/02/26 still works !!!
Play the game on normal or begginer whatever you want until Reese(the second to last boss)upload your savefile and continue normally…finish the game with the good ending and no summons and then download your savefile and change the difficulty to expert…kill Reese and then go straight to Ozma(Don’t talk to Daphora so you get the bad ending and thet means easiest last boss + you can summon now but they suck…
Be warned in expert the game is much harder but its only 2 bosses and one map you can do it.
Keep in mind that it’s important to play the whole last area and boss in expert that’s why you have to kill Reese on expert as well cause after Reese the game puts you automatically in the last region…
There is a chance that if you abandon the last mission with a hearthstone and then change to expert in the crevice and then go back to it and finish the game, maybe it will still work but i wouldnt risk it…after all its just one more boss and its nothing compared to the final one.
