Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – How to Increase Health & Stamina

May 12, 2023 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Wondering how to increase your health harts and stamina bar in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)? This guide explains it all. The main method is to complete Shrines, each one gives you 1 Light of Blessing, and every 4 Lights of Blessings can be traded for an upgrade on Health or Stamina at an Angle Statue. You can choose at the Angel Statues whether you want a health or stamina increase. You can find an Angel Statue in Lookout Landing, in the bunker down the hole in the town square.

The first 4 Lights of Blessing are story-related and can only be traded for a Health Upgrade in the Temple of Time. After that you get to pick freely between Health or Stamina upgrades.

How to Increase Health & Stamina

  1. First, you must complete Shrines. See All Shrine Locations & Solutions. Each Shrine gives you 1 Light of Blessing. Every 4 Lights of Blessing are worth 1 Health Heart Upgrade or 1 Stamina Upgrade. In other words: Every 4 Shrines gives 1 Upgrade.
  2. After getting 4 Lights of Blessing, go to any Angel Statue. For example, in Lookout Landing you can drop down the hole in the middle of the town to find one in the bunker. This opens up during Main Quest: Crisis at Hyrule Castle. You can come back at any time after the quest and use the same Angel Statue repeatedly. These statues are also found in some other main settlements throughout the game. Lookout Landing is just the earliest one on the Surface Map, it’s the starting town where you first go after leaving Great Sky Island.

  3. Pray at the Angel Statue and pick whether you want more Health or Stamina. The Angel takes you Lights of Blessing and gives you a Health Container or Stamina Container. Pick it up, this will automatically be consumed upon pickup and increases your chosen stat.
  4. Repeat this by completing more Shrines and revisiting the Angel Statue.

Additionally, you get a few Health Upgrades automatically from the story every few main quests. For example, after Tulin of Rito Village, Yunobo of Goron City, Sidon of the Zora, Riju of Gerudo Town.

You can also sleep at stables in the expensive bed for 50 Rupees to get 3 Golden Hearts and an extra Golden Stamina bar. This stacks on top of your normal health and stamina.
