Stray Game Length – How Long is It?

July 19, 2022 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Are you wondering how long is Stray? On a first playthrough you can expect it to take anywhere from 4 hours – 8 hours if you’re going for 100% completion, depending on whether you follow a Collectible Guide or look for everything by yourself without any help.

Stray’s story consists of 12 chapters total. If you only focus on the story they can be done in about 10 minutes each.

Stray Story Length Estimates:

  • 1.5 hours Speedrun, doing Main Objectives only
  • 2 hours 100% Completion Speedrun, including all Collectibles
  • 4-6 hours on your first playthrough following the Collectible Guide or Walkthrough
  • 5-8 hours on your first playthrough looking for everything yourself without using any help

There are no difficulty settings, it’s the same difficulty for everyone. On average, expect your first playthrough to last anywhere from 4-8 hours. If you get stuck anywhere, feel free to refer to the Stray Walkthrough.

100% Completion / Platinum Trophy:

  • For 100% Completion (meaning all Collectibles): 4-6 Hours with Collectible Guide / 5-8 Hours without guide
  • For Platinum Trophy: 6-8 Hours with Trophy Guide. The first playthrough (Collectible run) will take you 4-6 Hours. Then another 1.5h – 2h Speedrun. You must also sleep for 1 hour for trophy purposes but this doesn’t require any button inputs and you can idle the game while doing this.

For platinum you need 100% completion which includes all collectibles. Then another playthrough for the Speedrun. However, it’s theoretically possible to combine everything into a single 2h Speedrun but it requires already knowing where everything is. If you want to platinum the game multiple times it’s doable in 2 hours + 1 hour sleeping while idling the game.

How long did it take you to finish the Stray story or to gain 100% completion / platinum / 1000 Gamerscore? Leave your times in the comments below.
