Need for Speed Payback Collectible Locations Map (Chips, Billboards, Activities)

November 16, 2017 by PowerPyx 42 Comments

Need for Speed Payback has 130 Collectible Locations (100 Gambler Chips, 30 Billboards), 145 Activities (30 Jumps, 45 Speed Traps, 40 Speed Runs, 30 Drift Zones), and 20  Roaming Racers. The main collectibles are items you can find and pick up in the open world. The activities are optional challenges with a 3-star rating system. Depending on how well you do you can earn up to 3 stars per challenge.

Of course these are needed for several trophies & achievements in the game:

  • trophy All In – Collect all of the Gambler’s Chips
  • trophy Does Not Obey – Smash your way through all the Billboards
  • trophy You’ve Got the Need – Complete all Speed Trap
  • trophy Flat-Out – Complete all Speed Runs
  • trophy Sideways Style – Complete all Drift Zones
  • trophy Aces High – Complete all Jumps
  • trophy Active Lifestyle – Get a 3 Star Rating on all the Activities in the game
  • trophy Who Runs this Town? – Win all the events and beat all the Roaming Racers in the game
  • trophy Wherever I May Roam – Beat all 4 Roaming Racer bosses
  • trophy Supercars for Breakfast – Beat all the members of the 1% Club roaming racers league in the Nissan GT-R

All collectibles are available from the start. You can get the gambler’s chips & billboards as soon as you reach the first garage early in the story. For the activities you will need fully tuned cars. The Koenigsegg Regera (Drag Version with All 6 Carbon Parts) is recommended for anything speed & jump related. It’s by far the fastest car in the game, especially the drag version with its insane nitrous boost. The drift challenges are the most tricky and the choice of car is subjective. I can recommend the BMW M4 GTS (fully tuned to level 399), others had success with a fully tuned Nissan 240ZG Derelict Car. Even offroad cars can work really well for the offroad drifts. What you can do is save up a lot of money and trade-in cards, then back up your save game (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management). Now test different drift car setups and copy back the save game if you’re not happy with the final build. This way you can just keep buying and testing cars infinitely until you find the right one for you. Small cars work best, with big cars (such as the Lamborghinis) it’s too easy to crash into oncoming traffic. Getting 3 stars in everything is a challenge but not too difficult with practice and fully tuned cars.

Collectible Maps

The collectibles are very easy to locate. In fact, they show up on the map once you get close to them. Below are high-resolution maps with all collectible locations. Click on the images to view the full size version. Zoom in to see where exactly the marker needle points, drive there and you should have no issue finding all the items (as you approach, check the HUD for the nearby collectibles). Activities are mostly found at roads so you’ll find 90% of them by just playing through the story.

The roaming racers don’t have fixed locations. Instead, they will be driving around predefined routes. Just wait on their route and they will have to drive past you eventually. Once you have seen them they will always show up on the map (just like other collectibles).

Main Collectibles (130 total)

  • 100 Gambler’s Chips
  • 30 Billboards

You are missing one Jump on the map. It’s a bit south of the Solar Array.

Indeed. For some reason it didn’t register on my map. It has been updated now, all fixed. Thanks for reporting!
(I double checked all locations again and they are definitely all there on the collectible maps now)

I have 29/30, and I have all the ones marked on this map. So there must be one missing.

Did you drive to all of their locations marked on my collectible map?
They will only start to show in your game once you’ve been at their starting point.

I still only count 29 jumps, the picture is a bit blurry so maybe I somehow missed one.

Ok so “one with the wind” is so close to “air crazy” that on your picture you can’t see it lol.

You need a few for unlocking visual tuning parts. But there’s nothing special for getting all of them (just some XP & money).

I see 45 on my collectible map.

So either you’re missing one or something glitched for you.

The easiest way to track them is to download the image and open it in microsoft paint or some image software. Then put colored dots on the ones you have found or write numbers on them. I recounted them twice this way and came up with 45 each time. There’s a lot on the map so it’s easy to lose track.

I count 30 on my collectible map. Use Microsoft paint or some image software and put colored dots on the ones you’ve found (or cross them out, however you want to mark them).

Hey, is there any way to check which ones you don’t have 1 star on? I missed 2 speed traps (43/45) found one without any stars and got 3 stars first try. Only registered 3 stars, not one star.. ?

Really struggling with drift zones. No matter how much I upgrade my car & every setting I use I can’t get the 3 stars. Any tips welcome. Anyone who would like to complete them for me also welcome. Literally the only thing stopping me getting the platinum.

How can I see on the map all the races I did? The only ones that have green checks (✔️) on them are the activities? Everything else I accomplished still doesn’t have checks next to them it’s annoying having to keep track of what I did in game… cheers…
