Dead Island 2 Missing: Laura Walkthrough

Missing: Laura is a Lost and Found Quest in Dead Island 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Missing: Laura Lost and Found mission.

Starting Location: Ocean Avenue
Counts Towards Quest Completion in Region: Ocean Avenue
Requirement: Advance the story in Ocean Avenue area, then the missing person letters get marked on the map by a red icon
Reward: 1500 XP
Mission Info: Laura was reporting missing. She had been locked in a jail cell with her friend Emily, but Laura was too busy antagonizing the stressed officers to realize that Emily was succumbing to a bite. The cops must’ve though Laura’s screams for help were just more of her crying wolf.

Objectives:

Scout the police station for any sign of Laura
Search for the key to Laura’s cell
Police Chief Malloy has the key to Laura’s cell. Track him down!
Open up Laura’s cell

Starting Location: Missing: Laura

Laura’s Missing Person quest starts in Ocean Avenue. Pick up the letters from the wall near the fast travel map. These get marked by a red icon after advancing the story far enough.

Scout the police station for any sign of Laura

Fast travel to Venice Beach. Then head south to the police station (will have red marker on map when you track the quest). If you haven’t been here before, you must shoot the fuse box through the window in the hallway to open the door. Interact with Laura’s cell door to get the next objective.

Search for the key to Laura’s cell

Enter the room opposite Laura’s cell door. In here are two journals you must pick up. These are Journal: Keeper of the Keys & Journal: Arrest Notes of Detainees.

Police Chief Malloy has the key to Laura’s cell. Track him down!

After picking up the journals you will get a quest marker east of the police station. Go to the marked spot, in a shop you find the zombified Police Chief Malloy. Defeat him, loot his key.

Open up Laura’s cell

Backtrack to Laura’s cell and open it. Defeat Laura (and optionally, her friend) who are inside the cell. This will finish the mission. Afterward you can also loot Journal: Crying Wolf from Laura.
