King of Adventure
Discovered all of the treasure chests
There are a total of 68 Treasure Chests in Knack. Finding all of these Collectibles will earn you the “King of Adventure” silver trophy. You have to find all treasure chests in one playthrough!
If you miss a chest, there is no way to go back. Getting them via chapter select will not work either. It’s highly recommended to make backups of your save game every couple of chapters (e.g. on USB stick or PlayStation+ Cloud). So in case you miss a chest, you can always go back instead of having to restart the story from scratch. By pausing the game you can see what chapter you are currently in.
The treasure chests are hidden behind breakable walls and contain random gadget parts or crystals. The item you find is totally random and will change every time. Gadget parts and crystals are used to upgrade Knack and will count towards several other trophies. Opening the chests and getting upgrades will also make your playthrough easier. So it’s well worth looking for the chests, especially on your hard playthrough.
Professional Intruder
Collected the clear crystals in Chapter 4-2 without being detected by the security robots
Chapter 4-2
This is pretty simple. Just destroy 20 of the patrolling security bots without walking into their searchlight. Attack them from the side, or from behind. The enemies in illuminated areas may see you of course, as there is no way around them.
Quick Work
Destroyed the 3 anti-aircraft guns in Chapter 8-2 within 5 minutes
Chapter 8-2
From the start of this chapter, you have five minutes to turn off all cannons. Simply run past all of the enemies to get this done as quickly as possible. Try not to die. One of the cannons is to the left, one in the middle, one to the right. To open the gate in the middle you need to kill a small group of enemies guarding the gate. Other than that, you can run past everyone. Punch the cannon control panels a few times to turn them off.
Doing this on easy works best, because enemies deal less damage and don’t attack so frequently. You will unlock chapter select after beating the story and can replay this mission on easiest difficulty.
Total Victory
Defeated a boss without taking damage
Chapter 3-5
The first boss “Chieftain” is very easy to beat. Just evade all of his attacks and use your Super Moves when possible. At some point he will fly to an elevated position and start throwing mines at you. You need to throw the mines back at him. During the rest of the fight you just need to punch him. Use your dash attack (right stick, then press square) to make sure he won’t hit you when you get close.
Even though you fight Chieftain in chapter 3-4 for the first time, only chapter 3-5 counts for this trophy. The trophy can also be done via chapter select and works on any difficulty. You unlock chapter select after beating the game for the first time.
Barrage
Defeated 8 or more enemies with a single Super Move
Chapter 10-2
At the very end of this chapter you will stand in front of a big stone door after a cutscene. You have to use a lever to open it. Just before reaching the lever you will be fighting a horde of 8 Ogers (cannot be missed). Make sure you have a full Super Move before going into this fight. If your Super Move isn’t fully powered up, let the enemies kill you and destroy the sunstones in this area again.
As soon as you walk into the area with the 8 Ogers, unleash your Super Move by pressing the Circle-Button twice. The blast should kill all 8 enemies which unlocks the trophy. If you don’t get this the first time, let the enemies kill you to respawn before the fight.
Dynamic Play
Completed a chapter only using Super Moves on enemies and without dying once
Chapter 8-3
You must destroy as many yellow sunstone crystals as possible to power up your Super Moves. Run past all enemies and don’t attack any of them, unless it is required to get to the next area. There are only two points where you need to kill enemies. Towards the end of the chapter, you will come to a room where some Ogers attack. There are 3 waves. If you unleash your shockwave while standing in the middle of the room, you can kill the first two waves simultaneously (after the first two Ogers are dead, two more come through the vents and the blast should kill them, too). Then you need another Super Move for the third wave.
At the very end of the chapter, you have to kill an enemy throwing a boomerang to break a barricade. So make sure you still have a Super Move left at the end.
Perfect Action
Completed a stage without taking any damage on Hard difficulty or above
Chapter 8-3
Destroy as many yellow sunstone crystals as possible to power up your Super Moves. Run past all enemies and don’t attack any of them, unless it is required to get to the next area. There are only two points where you need to kill enemies. Towards the end of the chapter, you will come to a room where some Ogers attack. There are 3 waves. If you unleash your shockwave while standing in the middle of the room, you can kill the first two waves simultaneously.
At the very end of the chapter, you have to kill an enemy throwing a boomerang to break a barricade. All of the other enemies can be ignored, so chapter 8-3 is a pretty good place to do this.
After beating the story you will unlock chapter select! So don’t worry if you miss this or are playing on easy on your first run. Even if you beat the game on easy, you can choose hard difficulty in chapter select to do this trophy.
Combo Professional
Achieved 50 consecutive hits with the Combo Meter equipped
Chapter 4-2
You must first unlock the Combo Meter. You will find the required gadget parts in treasure chests. Depending on how lucky you get, this might take a playthrough or two (the parts you get are random). You can replay chapter 4-2 via chapter select after beating the story. To keep your Combo Meter going, you may never get hit. Kill all of the enemies in illuminated areas and take out 20 security bots. At the end there will be 4 more enemies after a cutscene, each one adding one hit to your combo. You should be able to get 50-52 hits in this chapter. Again, the top priority is to take out all of the enemies in illuminated areas. If you do that and never get hit, you are guaranteed to get a 50-hit combo.
