Bird Wyvern Gem is a crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds. It is used to craft various Weapons, Armor and Upgrades.
Item Description: Bird Wyvern Gem is a valuable gem that can be harvested from bird wyverns. Said to fetch a high price on the market (Rarity 7).
Location:
- Reward from defeating the following large monsters: Yian Kut-Ku (High-Rank), Gypceros (High-Rank)
- It can be obtained as a quest reward from Field Surveys (beating monsters in the open world). On the world map you can click on monsters to see what rewards they will give (X on PS5 / A on Xbox), then click on Quest Rewards (R1 on PS5 / RB on Xbox). Particularly from Yian Kut-Ku (High-Rank) & Gypceros (High-Rank), but the quest rewards are slightly randomized and won’t all give this as a completion reward.

Anyone trying to get the bird wyvern gem, be sure you go vs a “tempered” monster. They have increased odds of getting rare loot from defeating monsters and as quest rewards.
