Starting Location: Seeking Rare Yokai
Starts in Bakumatsu > Kiyomizu. This is a secret unmarked myth. If you’re missing a myth it’s likely this one. You must have finished the unmarked Myth: Yokai Horde Picture Scroll in Heian, which is the painter ghost’s first quest. Then the painter ghost will spawn in Bakumatsu > Kiyomizu > on the hill to the east of Shrine: Dilapidated Temple. This is easy to overlook because it doesn’t get marked until you go very close to the ghost, and there are no collectibles in that spot so no reason to ever go there. Should the ghost not appear there, be sure to clear all other available Myths and it will appear. The remaining objectives will be marked and you automatically earn
Like-Minded Friends for finishing this hidden myth.
Search for rare yokai at Shoboji Temple
Head to Shoboji Temple in the east of Gion region. From the shrine “Shrine Walk Greatwood” it’s just up the path through the gate. Defeat all the Yokai in that area. Then the ghost will appear, talk to him.
Speak with Himiko
Himiko is in the temple in the north-east of Shichijo region. Talk to her and you will automatically paint a picture of Kusanagi.
Show the painting of Kusanagi to the man
Return to where the quest started. However, the ghost is not there and you get ambushed by a Jakotsu-baba boss instead.
Defeat the Jakotsu-baba
Defeat the boss, then talk to the ghost again and the myth will be over. You unlock
Like-Minded Friends trophy / achievement.
