Pokemon Arceus Shiny Hunting Guide

February 14, 2022 by imbroken963 Leave a Comment

Shiny Pokemon are Pokemon with a different color. They are much rarer than the normal-colored Pokemon and highly sought after by many players due to their uniqueness. Their combat stats are the same as the non-shiny variant, they only look different.

The best way to hunt for shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Legends Arceus is through Mass Outbreaks. To do this method you will need to do a trick with your save file and backup save file. While you only visually ever see the primary save file, there is a hidden backup save file. The game just doesn’t make it evident how to access this save file. This step-by-step method explains how to get infinite checks on a specific Pokemon you are searching for the shiny of.

What are the Odds of finding Shiny Pokemon?

Here are the odds of finding a Shiny Pokemon during Mass Outbreaks:

  • Base Chance in Mass Outbreaks: 1 in 157.5
  • Mass Outbreak plus having 10 points in the PokeDex for that Pokemon: 1 in 151.7
  • Mass Outbreak plus having all 25 points in the PokeDex for that Pokemon: 1 in 141.2
  • Mass Outbreak plus having 10 points in the PokeDex for that Pokemon with the Shiny Charm: 1 in 136.5
  • Mass Outbreak plus having all 25 points in the PokeDex for that Pokemon with the Shiny Charm: 1 in 128

How to shiny hunt for specific Pokemon – Fastest Method:

Step 1 – When you leave Jubilife Village you can see what Pokemon are having a Mass Outbreak. If you would like to shiny hunt one of these Pokemon head to the location that the Pokemon is having the Outbreak in.

Step 2 – Turn off autosave and manually save at the Base Camp of whichever area you are in with the Outbreak you want to hunt. To turn off Autosave press the Up on the D-Pad and navigate with ZR to the Settings tab which is the final tab on the right. Scroll down to settings and select it. Then highlight the 6th option down which is Autosave and toggle it off using Right on the D-Pad. Once “Disabled” is selected press B to save the settings and exit the menu.

Step 3 – Head to the location of the Outbreak and catch all of the Pokemon in the Outbreak. If a Shiny Pokemon doesn’t appear in that group of Pokemon close out the game.

Step 4 – Reboot the game and the Outbreak should still be happening. Return to Jubilife Village and instantly leave. When you leave Jubilife Village the Outbreak should still be happening (sometimes the Outbreak does disappear but usually it is still there). Head back to the same location and manually save again at the Base Camp. If the Outbreak has ended reload the game and try this step again.

Step 5 – Once you have manually saved at the Base Camp head back to the Outbreak and catch all of the Pokemon again. If there is still no shiny close out of the game again.

Step 6 – Reboot the game but this time only go to the screen where the game prompts you to click :a2: to continue. Instead of clicking :a2: you are going to want to access your backup save instead. Instead of pressing :a2: press Up on the D-Pad +  :x2: +  :b2: . The game will ask you if you want to load your previous save, press Yes.

Step 7 – The Outbreak should still be happening.

Step 8 – Repeat Steps 5 – 7 again and again until you come across the shiny.
