In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you can play as two characters: Peter Park & Miles Morales. While you are forced to play one or the other during certain missions, you can switch between them in the open world after progressing the story far enough. The game only briefly explains how to do it so it’s easy to forget the option exists.
To switch between Peter and Miles: Swipe Touchpad Left to bring up the FNSM App > hold SQUARE-BUTTON to switch characters.
The first time this can be done is after Main Quest 03: Show Me New York. Between certain story missions this will be blocked. If it says “You cannot switch characters right now” simply advance the story further until this becomes available again. It only works while in the open world. After the story you can switch characters at any time (except while in combat or while having active objectives).
Alternatively, when an activity forces playing as a specific character you will be given the option to change characters when required.
