Item Description: This Ash of War grants an armament the Cold affinity and the following skill: “Hoarfrost Stomp: Stomp hard to spread a trail of freezing mist on the ground. The mist applies the frost status effect”. Usable on all melee armaments.

Notes: The single best and most exploitable Ash of War in the game. This lets you cheese almost every boss due to it dealing heavy AoE damage, especially with a leveled up weapon. Assign it to a weapon that deals a lot of damage, such as a Greatsword, and level it up, then assign this Ash of War to the weapon and pick the “Cold” option and level up the attributes that scale the weapon damage. It creates a wave of ice that covers a large area and interrupts most bosses and deals a lot of ranged damage quickly. You can even stunlock many small bosses with it, it’s quick and can be used from a distance. For mage’s it’s not so useful due to low damage output without the right attributes, but for a melee build it’s the best move. It can also hit bosses through walls and obstacles so you can hide behind pillars etc. and just spam this.

Locations:

• Liurnia of the Lakes: Main Caria Manor Gate – To the right (east) of the Caria Manor entrance (before entering the manor yard) you can ride down the hill and find a pool of water, also visible on the world map. In the water is a white moving line. Stand at a spot where the white line comes through, it has a scripted path. Then attack the front of the white line, there’s an invisible scarab that will drop it when hit. If you don’t hit it at the right time just wait until it passes by you again.
