God of War Ragnarok Casualty of War: The Brooch Walkthrough

Casualty of War: The Brooch is a Favor (Side Quest) for Holger in God of War Ragnarok. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Casualty of War: The Brooch Side Quest. For an overview of all quests in the game see God of War Ragnarok All Favors.

Objectives:

Starting Location: Casualty of War: The Brooch

Casualty of War: The Brooch is started by picking up half of a brooch in The Plains in Vanaheim.

Find the other half of the brooch

The second half of the brooch can be found in the area south of the Eastern Plains Celestial Altar, across the gap.

Before you can pick up the brooch half, you will need to defeat Egil the Oath Guard.

Egil will use a lot of heavy attacks, with the majority of them being either block break or unblockable attacks. For the most part you can dodge these, but you will still need to be careful as he can follow up with attacks quite quickly. He will also occasionally slam into the ground unleashing frost, which you will want to simply block or else take significant damage.

It can be hard to stun Jorgen, so the best way to deal with him is unleash a combo of runic attacks, companion attacks and Spartan Wrath to keep him stunlocked for a period while also dealing significant damage. When you have no special abilities left to use, you will want to mostly dodge his attacks and get hits in where you can, being wary of his frost attacks.

Once he is dead, pick up the second half of the brooch.
