Nioh 3 How to find Bloodedge Demon (Purple Grave)

February 5, 2026 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Nioh 3 has introduced a new game feature called the Bloodedge Demon. It’s a powerful repeatable boss that spawns at random locations in a big purple grave. Its location changes every time you reboot the game and is different for every player. It’s a very challenging boss that scales to your level but drops the best gear in the game.

Since the location is random you might wonder how to find it. Luckily, the game has a hidden system that points you in the right direction, it just never tells you about it. Ever wondered what the red arrows on the map are about? They appear when defeating revenants from red graves and point in the direction of the Bloodedge Demon (Purple Grave).

Locating the Bloodedge Demon

The locations is randomized for every player and changes every time you reboot the game.

Step 1: Defeat revenants from red graves (the red human ghosts). When you defeat them, their soul will fly away and a red arrow appears on the map that points in the direction of the Bloodedge Demon. The arrows only appear if Bloodedge Demon is available in the era/map you’re playing (Warring States, Heian, Bakumatsu). If no arrow appears, it means the Bloodedge Demon is found in a different era. The more of the red ghosts you kill, the more arrows appear so you can easily triangulate the position of the Bloodedge Demon. It will be in a straight line of where the arrows point. So if you have 2 arrows, imagine a straight line extendend from each arrow, where they intersect is where the Bloodedge Demon will be.

Step 2: Run around the estimated area where the red arrows point until you find the big purple grave surrounded by smaller red graves. Interact with the purple grave to intiate the Bloodedge Demon boss fight. If you die you can repeat it as many times as you want. However, don’t reboot the game in between or the location will change.

Bloodedge Demon Fight Tips

Solo it will be a very hard fight, the boss can kill you in one hit. An easy workaround is to use the co-op feature at shrines and make a room under Expeditions > Story Mode > Create Room. You can wait for someone to join you or tell a friend to search for your room. Then just use summoning seals and throw Ninjutsu with 2 players. If you can find a blue grave to call an Acolyte (AI companion) you can make it even easier. With two players it’s much more manageable.

How to know in what region the Bloodedge Demon is

After fighting a Bloodedge Demon for the first time, you will receive a notification whenever you interact with a shrine after rebooting the game. It will say “A Bloodedge Demon has appeared” if it’s in the same era/map you are in. If it’s in a different era it will say “A Bloodedge Demon has appeared in a different era”. There are 3 eras (open world maps) that you visit as part of the story.
