NTE Lights On (Miles Apart) Walkthrough

Lights On / Miles Apart is a side mission in NTE (Neverness to Everness). The quest is initially called “Lights On” on the map, but once started the name changes to “Miles Apart” in the quest log.

  • Starting Location: East Talin Avenue in New Heartland District
  • Quest Giver: Iris
  • Requirement: Available from the start
  • Reward: 400 Hunter Level EXP, 60 Annulith, 15,000 Fons, 12 Senior Hunter Guide, 12 Colorless Dye, 30,000 Beetle Coins
  • Quest Description: Interact with the Anomaly exhibit “Lamp” and enter the Exhibition Hall. Even a tiny lightbulb can be an entrance to an Anomalous Realm. Pretty magical, isn’t it?

Objectives:

  1. Follow the light’s guidance
  2. Talk to the girl on the swing
  3. Try knocking on the door
  4. Talk to the construction worker / Talk to Patty
  5. Go to the park to gather inspiration /
  6. Go to the slide / exercise equipment / rocking chair
  7. Talk to Patty / Select the correct flower type
  8. Look around inside the house
  9. Submit the correct items to advance the memory
  10. Defeat enemies from the past
  11. Give the hair clip to Patty and talk to her
  12. Go to the storage floor on the second floor / Talk to the girl in the storage room
  13. Give the letter to Patty and talk to her

Starting Location: Lighs on (Miles Apart)

  

Follow the light’s guidance

Talk to Iris in the Gold Apple Collection Hall. She will tell you about the lightbulb artpiece next to her, which is an Anomaly. Interacting with the Anomaly will teleport you to a storage-looking area where you can talk to Tungsten. Tungsten will explain to you what is going on and will also give you a switch that you will need to progress the memory you are about to experience.

 

Talk to the girl on the swing / Try knocking on the door

Follow the path and you will find a girl on a swing who you can ask some questions. She will ignore you at first but will eventually answer your question after which she will run off. Follow her until you reach a house. Knock on the door 3 times and your character will refuse to push the door in. Use Tungsten’s Switch from the radial menu’s “Wheel section” (hold :l1: and press :r1: and it will be at the top). It will teleport you to the same place but it will be sunny this time. From now on the guide will refer to the sunny version as present time and to the dark version as the past.

Talk to the construction worker / Talk to Patty

Have a talk with the construction workers in front of the house. They will inform you that the house owner is making their life difficult by changing her plans all the time. Patty, the architect, will explain the situation to you and will ask you to join her on a walk to a park nearby to gather some inspiration.

Go to the park to gather inspiration /Go to the slide / exercise equipment / rocking chair

In the park have a look at the slide, exercise equipment, rocking chair and eventually the slide which will remind Patty of her past.

Talk to Patty / Select the correct flower type

Inside the flower shop Patty will ask you to choose a flower for her. Go for the yellow roses and talk to Patty again.

Look around inside the house / Submit the correct items to advance the memory

After a dialogue in the house you will be free to look around the house and this is where the quest becomes a bit more complicated. You will have to keep traveling between the present time and the past in order to find items which will help you progress in the opposite version of the house. You will need to find 4 specific items to progress which will be bold. There are also some other items you can pick up but they are just a distraction.

  1. Travel to the past (use switch in radial menu) and on the second floor grab the Paint Can from the floor in the back right room.
  2. In the present give the red paint to Patty to obtain a Patty’s Design Draft.
  3. In the past you can find a key amongst some clothes in the bathroom upstairs.
  4. In the present use that key to open the locked glass cabinet in the back right room upstairs to obtain the “The Fox and the Swing”.
  5. In the past grab the Sticky Note from the fridge downstairs. (100 Healthy Meals Kids Love)
  6. In the past you can grab the Damaged Red Teddy Bear from a cupboard in the bedroom upstairs, near the window. There is also one in the hallway but you need this one in particular.
  7. In the present go downstairs, use the Household Tools box next to the record player to the right of the TV, insert the Damaged Red Teddy to get Mended Teddy Bear.

In the past, you must also talk to the girl sitting on the couch downstairs. She kicks you out of the house, switch back to present to go upstairs. The vase on the left at the top of the stairs will now glow blue. Interact with it to get a letter, then turn around and go to the end of the hallway, which will become distorted and leads to a new area (in the past only).

At the end you will see scenes from Patty’s life and will have to submit the correct items in the middle of the room each time. After submitting an item you can enter another one of the portals surrounding the middle area.

  1. In the first room submit the green book (right item).
  2. In the Teddy Bear room (bottom left portal) submit the Mended Teddy Bear (the middle bear).
  3. In the Cake room (bottom right portal) submit the Sticky Note that looks like a yellow paper (right item).
  4. In the Painting room (front right portal) submit the left item that looks like a pink drawing.

Defeat enemies from the past / Give the hair clip to Patty and talk to her

After all the correct items are submitted you need to go through the blue mirror in the middle where the girl is pointing at. Then you must fight through 5 rooms of enemies, after clearing a room you must step through the glowing wall mirror with light shining through. After the 5th room you talk to Patty, she teleports you out and you receive a hair clip. Give to Patty in the present, she stands at the TV.

 

Go to the storage floor on the second floor / Talk to the girl in the storage room

Follow her upstairs and after the dialogue go back to the past again for another dialogue with the child version of Patty upstairs.

Give the letter to Patty and talk to her

The last thing to do is to give Patty her mother’s letter in the present in front of the house. Afterward you can talk to Tungsten to summarize the memory and you will successfully finish the quest.

This finishes Lights On (Miles Apart) side quest in NTE (Neverness to Everness).
