The Park Resonant is the 3rd main mission in the Defeating Resonants questline in Control Resonant. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Park Resonant main quest.
- Main Story: Defeating Resonants
- Starting Location: The Park Zone > “New Mold strains?” text on map
- Requirement: None, available any time after reaching The Park zone
- Reward: 2 x Abilities: Spore Burst & Growth, Artifact: Untapped Face Mask, 1 x Reset Item, 3000 x Source
- Quest Description: The Mold from the Oldest House has rapidly spread through a part of the city codenamed the Park, northeast of Central. A Resonant could be behind it.
Objectives:
- Eat the Pizzeria Mold
- Eat the Minimart Mold
- Eat the Gym Mold
- Kill the Resonant Behind the Mold Gate
Starting Location: The Park Resonant Quest
First, to reach “The Park” you must go through “The Park Checkpoint” in the north-east corner of Central region (the text appears on the map when zooming in). The Park is a completely optional area that you never visit as part of the story.
After unfogging the map, in the middle of the Park you will see a text on the map “New Mold strains?”. There you must drop down a hole and check the left side for a mold you can inspect with L1/LB. This will trigger some dialogue. Afterward, eat the Mold to start the quest.
Eat the Pizzeria Mold
You must now collect 3 more pieces of mold, they will be marked on the map. They can be found in any order, but we’ll grab them in the same order as the objectives label them. The first mold is in the south-east corner of the Park. To reach it, you must go through the sewers in the north-east of the Park. Follow the “FBC” signs on the right side of the sewers and you’ll reach the Pizzeria.
Defeat all the enemies to open the Pizzeria door. Go inside and interact with the mold.
Potential Bug: sometimes the interact prompt on this mold is missing and there is yellow fog in the Pizzeria that causes you persistent damage. If this happens, go outside and attack the outer windows of the Pizzeria and the yellow fog should stop, once you stop taking environmental damage you can interact with the mold.
Eat the Minimart Mold
Minimart Mold is in the south-west corner of The Park, this is the easiest on to reach. Just defeat the enemies to open the door.
Eat the Gym Mold
Gym Mold is in the north-west corner of the Park, at the bottom of a big spore-infested path. Defeat the enemies to open the path to the mold.
Kill the Resonant Behind the Mold Gate
Now return to where the quest started, in the hole in the middle of The Park. After eating the 3 mold, the Mold Gate will open when you approach it.
Follow the path to reach the boss, destroy the two tentacles, then destroy the parts on the main boss. Afterward you can pick from two Abilities Spore Burst & Growth, but you can change these anytime later in The Gap by interacting with the Mural.
This finishes The Park Resonant in Control Resonant.
