Introduction

Welcome to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Trophy Guide! The trophies in MW4 only take place in the campaign this time. There are no Multiplayer/DMZ trophies. However, this time you have to beat the campaign on realism. Realism is set to Veteran, but without a HUD. Also, friendly fire is turned on, and you can’t see who your teammates are, as there is no checkmark above them like on other difficulties. To play on Realism difficulty, you have to complete the campaign once on any other difficulty. For other trophies, you just have to do some miscellaneous tasks in most missions. Mission 10: Stranded is a big open world mission where you need to collect 25 Yellow Supply Crates for :gold: Time to Crate, collect any 50 of 58 Notes for Noteworthy, and collect 40 Supplies to repair the Base Camp for :gold: Scavenger. These main collectibles all take place during Mission 10, the notes found in other missions don’t count toward trophies and can be ignored.

Step 1: Finish Story on any difficulty + Mission-specific Trophies + Collectibles [8 Hours]

Beat the campaign once on any difficulty to unlock Realism difficulty. Along the way, do the mission-specific trophies: all are listed below in chronological order. Some trophies require a greater difficulty than you might play on. Luckily, you don’t have to play the full mission on the greater difficulty for these trophies. Check their description to see further instructions. For the 50 Notes you only need the ones found during Mission 10, the ones from other missions don’t count. So you don’t need to look out for collectibles along the way.

  • Mission 1: Mayhem – :silver: Skeet Shooting
  • Mission 2: Out in the Cold – :gold: Safety’s On (needs Hardened difficulty) + :gold: Can’t touch this (needs Veteran difficulty)
  • Mission 3: Following Orders – :silver: No Stone Unturned + :silver: No Harm Done
  • Mission 4: Hired Gun – :silver: Bullet Train
  • Mission 5: Losing Ground – :silver: Raining Thunder
  • Mission 6: Traffic – No trophies
  • Mission 7: Gone Dark – No trophies
  • Mission 8: Assassins – :silver: Revenge (needs Hardened difficulty) + :gold: Pacifist
  • Mission 9: Survivors – No trophies
  • Mission 10: Stranded – :gold: Time to Crate + :gold: Scavenger + :silver: Incoming! + :gold: Noteworthy
  • Mission 11: Defection – No trophies
  • Mission 12: Counter Attack – :silver: Long Shot
  • Mission 13: Escape – :silver: Never Forgotten
  • Mission 14: Entrenched – :silver: Trench Broom
  • Mission 15: Decapitation – No trophies
  • Mission 16: Greater Good – No trophies

Step 2: Finish Story on Realism difficulty [7 Hours]

After you finish the campaign once on any difficulty, you will unlock Realism difficulty. It is set to Veteran, with no HUD, and friendly fire is active. Enemies are much more accurate, throw more grenades, and you die much faster. Just stay in cover, quickly peek out of cover to take out one enemy and repeat. If you platinumed previous Call of Duty games, then you shouldn’t have much trouble.

Optional – Step 3: Cleanup

If you missed any trophies, you can do them now via mission select.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (2026) Trophy Guide

Hold the Line
Complete the game on any Difficulty.
Complete the entire campaign (All Missions) on any difficulty. Playing on the easiest difficulty is enough for this.
Was it worth it?
Complete the game on Realism Difficulty.
Complete the entire campaign (All Missions) on Realism difficulty.  Realism is set to Veteran, but without a HUD. Also, friendly fire is turned on, and you can’t see who your teammates are, as there is no checkmark above them unlike other difficulties. To play on Realism difficulty, you have to complete the campaign once on any other difficulty (beating easiest difficulty will suffice).

On Realism, the enemies are much more accurate, throw more grenades, and you die much faster. Just stay in cover, quickly peek out of cover to take out one enemy, and repeat.

If you platinumed previous Call of Duty games, then you shouldn’t have much trouble on Realism.

Skeet Shooting
Kill 10 paratroopers in ‘Mayhem’ before they hit the ground.
Mission 1: Mayhem

When you reach the field in the stadium, you need to shoot 10 of the enemies that are dropping in with parachutes. You need to kill 10 in one go, if all enemies land, quickly reload the checkpoint to try it again.

Safety’s On
Defeat all enemies in the kitchen of ‘Out in the Cold’ without firing your gun on Hardened or harder
Mission 2: Out in the Cold

After passing through the room with the green forest visuals, you will enter a corridor. The door in there leads to the kitchen with 5 enemies in it. Up until the corridor, you can shoot enemies, and you can also play on Recruit difficulty until this part. Once you enter the corridor, set the difficulty to Hardened or above. On your way to this corridor, make sure to pick up the bottles you come across, as you will need them in the kitchen. You should have 4 bottles before entering the kitchen.

Once you enter the kitchen, switch to your hands and quickly run towards the two guys on the right, throw a bottle at the first one, and do a takedown when prompted. Right after the takedown animation, throw another bottle at the second enemy and also do a takedown. A third enemy will come towards you. Hit him with another bottle and repeat the process. Now go around the shelf and throw your last bottle at the enemy that is closer to you. Now kill the last enemy by meleeing him and the trophy should unlock.

Can’t touch this
Defeat Makarov on Veteran difficulty or higher without getting hit in the alley.
Mission 2: Out in the Cold

At the end of the second mission, ‘Out in the Cold’, you will chase Makarov through the city. At the end of the chase, you will enter an alley, and you will fistfight Makarov. Up until this point, you can play on Recruit difficulty. Before entering the alley, change the difficulty to Veteran or higher. You need to complete the entire fight without getting hit. A hit means your screen will be outlined in red. If that happens, reload the checkpoint. There will be a checkpoint during the fight, so if you get hit after that checkpoint and you have to reload it, you will start from there, and the trophy will still unlock. You block attacks by pressing :l2: / :lt: .

Mission 4: Hired Gun

The whole mission takes place in a train area. So stand on a train car, it does not matter if it is moving or not, and kill 50 enemies. It is recommended to only move forward if you don’t see any enemies because there aren’t many enemies throughout the mission.

Raining Thunder
Kill 15 enemies with 3 mortar rounds in a row in ‘Losing Ground’.
Mission 5: Losing Ground

When you are prompted to go on the mortar to progress, aim at the groups of enemies, kill 5 with each of the three shots. However, there are four opportunities to shoot in case you were too slow with one of the first three opportunities.

First opportunity: Hill on the left, shoot with a range of 3.

Second opportunity: Street on the right, shoot with a range of 3 or 4.

Third opportunity: Rooftop on the right, shoot with a range of 4.

Fourth opportunity: Street on the right again, range of 3 and 4.

It is recommended to reload the checkpoint if you don’t get the trophy after the third opportunity. If you proceed you would have to replay the mission to get to the mortar part.

Revenge
Kill everyone after Shin dies in ‘Assassins’ on Hardened or harder difficulty.
Mission 8: Assassins

Before you start this mission, make sure it is set to Hardened difficulty or above. Shin is your bodyguard, and no matter what you do, he will die early in the mission. You can’t miss this part. To get this trophy, you need to kill every enemy after that point. You can do this either stealthily or you can do it in open combat. Proceed to the next areas only if there are no enemies left. Once you reach the Bunker (Code for the door is: 9103), do NOT touch the ladder. Instead, turn around and go prone. There will be another wave of four enemies. Once you kill those four enemies, the trophy will unlock.

This trophy can NOT be combined with :gold: Pacifist.

Pacifist
Complete ‘Assassins’ by only killing one enemy.
Mission 8: Assassins

To get this trophy, you can only kill one single enemy. And you kill this one enemy automatically, which will lead to Shin’s death. For the first half of this mission, stick to your bodyguard Ko. Then, once Shin dies, you are separated from your other Bodyguard. In the library section, you need to get upstairs and take the door, Code is 5523. After the library section, you can sprint into the kitchen. Here, make your way through the kitchen and use the door on the other side. Code is 7632. After the kitchen, you will reach the garden area. In the middle of that area, swim under the Gazebo to stay hidden from the Sniper inside the Gazebo. Make your way to the upper left side of the area, and you will see a big statue. You need to reach the backside of that statue and enter the bunker, Code is 9103. You will unlock the trophy after going down the ladder inside the bunker and after going through another door after using the ladder.

This trophy can NOT be combined with :silver: Revenge.

Time to Crate
Open every Yellow Supply Crate in ‘Stranded’.
Mission 10: Stranded

There are 25 Yellow Supply Crates during Mission 10: Stranded. You must find them all for this trophy (location guide will be added soon).

Scavenger
Repair everything in Base Camp.
Mission 10: Stranded

Incoming!
Destroy every vehicle reinforcement at the SAM Site before they unload in ‘Stranded’.
Mission 10: Stranded

One of the objectives in this open world mission is the SAM Site. For this trophy, you need to destroy a total of 8 enemy reinforcement trucks and a tank at the SAM site. While you can destroy the trucks however you want, it is recommended to kill the enemies and loot the green crates in the area for bomb drones. Now keep an eye out for the trucks. They will all come from the same direction, and they will all cross the bridge. To get some extra protection, you can place proximity mines on or around the bridge. When you get out of drones, keep an eye out for the green lootboxes. The tank needs two hits with the drones, every other vehicle only needs one drone. Once all reinforcements are destroyed, you will earn the trophy.

Long Shot
Snipe all 4 enemies firing the mortars in ‘Counter Attack’.
Mission 12: Counter Attack

In this mission, you will reach a rooftop from where you need to protect your allies. During this section, there will be two mortar teams with two enemies each. The teams appear one at a time. After a while, you need to destroy a tank, which will be slightly to your left side below you. Right after that, check the roof above the tank to see the first team. If you can’t kill the second guy from a team quickly, reload checkpoint.

Soon after that, you need to kill a sniper. After that, check the roof to the left of the first team, the second team will appear here soon.

The trophy unlocks after killing both teams.

Never Forgotten
Recover the Dog Tags in ‘Escape’.
Mission 13: Escape

The dog tags are in a safe halfway through the mission. To get them you need to pick up a note at the beginning. The note is in a room guarded by a soldier, you can’t miss this room because you will pass it for the story. Once the soldier leaves the room, get inside and pick up the note.

Later in the mission, you will reach the barracks room.

As soon as you leave it, enter the room to your right. Open the safe with the code 8410 to find the dog tags and to unlock the trophy.

Trench Broom
In ‘Entrenched’, kill 15 enemies with a shotgun before securing the Target Building.
Mission 14: Entrenched

You can earn this trophy at the beginning of this mission. Switch to your secondary weapon, which is the shotgun. Then go through the trenches and kill every enemy you see with the shotgun. Near the end of the trenches, you will be attacked by an enemy, and an ally saves you. Make sure to have at least 10+ kills at this point, after that, only a handful of enemies will appear before you secure the building.

Noteworthy
Read 50 different Notes.
Mission 10: Stranded

For this only the Notes found during Mission 10: Stranded do count. The notes found in other missions DON’T count so you can ignore them. Mission 10: Stranded contains 58 Notes total, you only need any 50 of 58 (location guide will be added soon).
