Guardians of the Galaxy Chapter 4 contains 10 Collectible Locations. This walkthrough will guide you to all collectibles in Chapter 4 in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies and 100% completion is included: Outfits, Guardian Collectibles, Compendium Items, Archives.
All of the Collectibles are missable, the reason being that your progress reverts in Chapter Select to the progress you had when you played the Chapter for the first time (except Outfits which do stay). Finding missing items in Chapter Select doesn’t add them to your save later in the game. In other words, whatever you find through Chapter Select doesn’t get saved and doesn’t count towards trophies & achievements. Because of this it’s recommended to save in a different Manual Slot at the start of every Chapter. If you miss something you can reload the save to replay the Chapter right away. Make sure you save in a different slot each time, because the autosave automatically keeps overwriting the active Save Slot.
Chapter 4 – The Monster Queen
Depending on whether you decided to sell Groot or Rocket in Chapter 3, you will get completely different paths of this chapter. You can find the Outfits / Guardian Collectibles on either path but they have different locations. The Archives are different on each path but there’s the same amount of them. If you try to sell Groot, the negotiation with Lady Hellbender will always succeed regardless of your dialogue choices. If you try to sell Rocket, the negotiation with Lady Hellbender will always fail no matter what dialogue choices you pick. So the choices in Chapter 4 don’t matter what path you get, it’s entirely based on who you chose to sell previously in Chapter 3.
SELLING GROOT PATH:
Archive: Don’t Do It
After sneaking past the sleeping guards, it’s inside Lady Hellbender’s Throne Room. From the way you came in, check the right side.
Outfit – Drax: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
In Lady Hellbender’s Throne Room, to the left of where you entered is a purple container with this Costume collectible.
Outfit – Rocket: Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse
After riding the elevator down from the Throne room, you will find yourself in another dining area with lots of sleeping guards. Instead of going left and following the other guardians, carefully vault over the empty wooden table and make your way forward while avoiding tripping over the bottles or enemies. You will eventually reach an opening you can crouch under. In this section is a purple container with this Costume collectible.
Guardian Collectible: Assassin’s Ring
From the last Collectible, sneak past all the sleeping guards and enter the next area. There you will find some cages. Enter the room to the left where Drax is exploring, behind some red crates to the right of the entrance is the Collectible on the floor.
Archive: Care of our Charges
From the last Collectible, enter the room where Rocket is exploring, which is the room where Groot is locked up. On the right side of this room on some hay stacks is the Archive.
SELLING ROCKET PATH:
Archive: Drones
After the negotiation with Lady Hellbender, you will slide down and then you’re facing a red laser drone. Destroy the structure to the left and jump over, climb over the next obstacle and turn to the right to find it on a crate.
Outfit – Drax: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
From the last collectible, squeeze through the gap and go straight ahead. Do NOT follow the other guardians through the tunnel to the left. You must jump over to some platforms instead. At the very end of this section is this Outfit collectible in a purple container.
Outfit – Rocket: Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse
This is found in the dark sewers. At the first split in the path, turn left to find this purple chest.
Archive: Unknown Ghilaron Species
Inside the Vault (automatic story-related). There’s a big skull in the middle of the Vault, straight behind the skull at the end of the vault is this archive.
Guardian Collectible: Assassin’s Ring
Also in the Vault, to the right side of the previous collectible.

Can I restart chapter 3 and choose rocket and go through 4 to get the collectibles on his path? I’m a little confused with this one. I did Groot’s path first.

No, only one path per playthrough. They lock out each other. Don’t use Chapter Select, your choices don’t update via Chapter Select anyway. Just continue with the next chapter 🙂

I think I found a mistake on Rocket’s costume for Groot’s path: it says “Instead of going right and following the other guardians,” but you go right in the video. It’s a little misleading is all. Thank you awesome guide as always.

So we can only do one of the two choices in a playthrough and the archives are unique to each one. So if we do rocket on playthrough 1 and get all the collectables there we have to do groot in new game plus and grab everything there to get all the collectables right?

I might be stupid here. i get the fact that i cannot restart chapter 3 to do the other path. Plz tell me that i only need to play the game again and then second path? i didnt make a manual save as recommended in the video. Im so confused.

How do I get the drone archive if I choose to sell groot?
