Nioh 3 contains 92 Kodama Locations. Finding all Kodamas unlocks the Kodama Leader trophy & achievement.
Kodama are little green people. These are the most useful collectibles to gather because they increase the amount of Elixirs (healing charges) restored at Shrines when you respawn, and they also grant “Kodama Blessings” that can be activated at Shrines for permanent buffs. Having more Elixirs makes the game significantly easier, so you should find all Kodama as you play through the game for an easier time.
The Kodama get marked on the map automatically with a white icon
when you find other Collectibles to reach Exploration Level 4 within a region. On the map press
to view the collectible tracker for each region. You can then put a marker on them and follow the compass to locate them easily. Many of them are inside buildings or on rooftops so explore the environment thoroughly and you’ll reach them naturally while completing each region.
Nothing is missable, all areas are still explorable after the story in free-roam and all missions are replayable through the Battle Scroll at shrines.

Kodama #74 – requires shooting the Red Crystals with the cannon in Shichijo region, above “Shrine: Shimabara Pleasure District – Main Gate”. This can only be used after finishing Side Mission: Beast of the Underworld. It starts in Bakumatsu > Shichijo region > Shrine: Shichijo Abyss – Stratum, talk to Thomas Glover who stands on the path through this area. You can’t miss him, he automatically talks to you and gives you this side mission. Then complete his side mission by reaching the very end of the region and defeating Kasha in a boss fight, after Shrine: Shichijo Abyss – Armory. After the boss fight, you unlock cannons in all regions and can get this Kodama (approach the cannon from Shichijo region > Shrine: Nishin Honganji Temple -> go west from there).
