Nioh 3 All Collectibles Locations Guide

February 5, 2026 by PowerPyx 2 Comments

Nioh 3 contains 1009 Collectible Locations of which 460 are needed for trophies/achievements and 549 aren’t needed for the Platinum trophy. Not needed for trophies are: Valuables, Nurikabe, Crucible Wraiths, Crucible Spikes, Spirit Veins (only one Spirit Vein of each type needed). Everything else is required.

Nothing is missable, all areas are still explorable after the story in free-roam and all missions are replayable through the Battle Scroll at shrines.

All collectibles get marked on the map automatically after you find other collectibles to reach Exploration Level 4 within a region. On the map press :r2: / :rt: to view the collectible tracker for each region, it shows exactly how many of each type you collected and how many are left. Collectibles you already found remain marked on the map with an orange checkmark on them. You can filter the icons by collectible type when going to the world map and pressing :square: (PS5) / :x1: (XB). This makes it easy to hunt down specific missing ones.

Recommended Approach: It’s best to thoroughly explore all regions as you go. Activate the Shrines, do Myths (Side Quests), clear out the Enemy Bases and Lesser Crucibles. This should get you to Exploration Level 4 within the region and then everything gets marked on the map. Now you can put a map marker on the remaining collectibles and follow the compass to locate them easily. This is faster and more efficient than following a guide for 1000+ collectibles individually, as most of them are in plain sight and quick to collect. This guide features a 100% complete map of each region and mission so you can quickly compare against your findings. If you’re missing anything you can also refer to the collectible types by type that list each collectible location individually.

Clearing out all regions to 100% completion is highly recommended to make the game easier. You get permanent increases to your Attack and Defense when reaching Exploration Level 2 in a region. The collectibles themselves also give useful rewards that make you stronger, especially the Kodama in Six Jizo Statues that let you activate passive buffs at Shrines. Kodama also increase the number of Elixirs you replenish when respawning at Shrines, which makes boss fights significantly easier. The Kodama and Chijiko also make a noise when nearby so turn up the volume to locate them more easily. The Kodama are sometimes hidden under boxes that must be destroyed, or on rooftops that you must climb. The compass will show an up/down arrow if the collectible is above/below you.

Game Structure: The game is divided into 4 “Main Regions” (Eras of different time periods): Warring States > Heian > Antiquity > Bakumatsu. Each of these has multiple small sub-regions with their own collectible tracker. In addition to the open world collectibles, some missions also feature extra collectibles which you can track under Progress > scroll over a Mission > press :right: to scroll over “Collectibles” > press :x: to view a list of the exact Collectibles. The Mission Collectibles tracked in the Progress Menu are exclusively Valuables which aren’t needed for trophies/achievements and can be skipped. These don’t count toward the open world region completion. However, there are a few areas, mainly Crucibles (dungeons), that are only reachable during certain Main Missions. These are all replayable through Shrines. There are a few trophy-relevant collectibles that are in areas without a map tracker and are easy to overlook. These are detailed below, if you’re missing anything these are the ones to check first.

Backtracking: Some collectibles require backtracking as they are gated behind “Spirit Veins”. These require Guardian Spirits, all of which are automatic story unlocks. If you can’t reach a collectible, don’t worry about it and come back later. Some Enemy Bases can only be completed as part of Myths and Main Missions, so if a location has no enemies or the icon doesn’t appear on the map it’ll be quest-related.

Untracked Hidden Collectibles: At the time of the game’s release, some regions don’t feature a collectible tracker. It’s unclear if this is a bug or intentional. These are marked red in the guide below. If you end up missing any collectibles these are the ones to recheck first.

  • The region in the north of Heian (Mount Kurama) contains 3 Kodama, 1 Hot Spring, 3 Shrines.
  • Antiquity Region (Main Missions: The Spirit Tree Village + Dark Roots) contains 1 Hot Spring, 7 Shrines.
  • Final Battle of Edo (Main Mission: A Sinister End) contains 1 Hot Spring.

Additionally, some Collectibles that are tracked on the open world map are only reachable during the 5 Crucibles (dungeons) during specific Main Missions. So if you miss anything in those regions replay the Crucibles.

  1. 1st Crucible (Hamamatsu) = Main Mission: Crucible Manifested
  2. 2nd Crucible (Mikatagahara) = Main Mission: A Fiery Invasion
  3. 3rd Crucible (Palace Grounds) = Main Mission: Frozen City, Blazing Tree

  5. 5th Crucible (Kyoto Imperial Palace) = Main Mission: Scion of the Gods

The only trophy-relevant collectibles here are the 7 Shrines and the 1 Hidden Hot Spring. The Shrines you’ll all reach automatically.

Note: Hot Spring is at the end of Main Mission “Dark Roots”, after activating the last elevator, just before the mission boss. When you reach a room with red bloody water where you must pick up an item to power the gate to the boss, the Hot Spring is on the left side. Sitting in this Hot Spring and listening to Himiko’s dialogue is also a requirement for trophy Distant Memories. To reach the Crucible Wraith you must jump off to a root during elevator ride (2nd elevator to the side of the shrine that goes down/up).

You can’t miss him, he automatically talks to you and gives you this side mission. Then complete his side mission by reaching the very end of the region and defeating Kasha in a boss fight, after Shrine: Shichijo Abyss – Armory. Without referencing the sub-region and approximate location, nobody will be able to help you.
If you can’t reach something it’s most likely behind a Spirit Vein, these needs more story progress. Come back for it after the story and after doing all Myths, then you can reach everything easily. Just grab what you can find, then backtrack for the unreachable stuff after unlocking the required skills, all automatic story unlocks.
