Nioh 3 contains 16 Scampuss Locations. Finding all Scampusses unlocks the Scampuss Enthusiast trophy & achievement.
Scampusses are little cats that make a purring noise when nearby. They are usually found next to shrines in the middle of the road. When you pet them, they will start to run away and you must chase them until they stop running. Then you can pet them again and they give you a reward. Some Scampusses must be chased while remaining in stealth (crouching in tall grass) or they will get scared and reset to their starting location. Each Scampuss also counts as a Valuable Collectible because they always give Ninja/Samurai Locks (Skill Points). Some of them also give a Scampuss Fur Ball that can be given to the Great Scampuss in the Eternal Rift (unlocked after the first Crucible). Giving all Fur Balls to the Great Scampuss unlocks the Ninjutsu that transforms you into a big Scampuss for a short time.
The Scampusses get marked on the map automatically with a white icon
when you find other Collectibles to reach Exploration Level 4 within a region. On the map press
to view the collectible tracker for each region. You can then put a marker on them and follow the compass to locate them easily.
Nothing is missable, all areas are still explorable after the story in free-roam and all missions are replayable through the Battle Scroll at shrines.
