Nioh 3 contains 156 Named Shrines & Bodhisattva Statues Locations. Finding all shrines/statues unlocks the Devotee trophy & achievement.
Shrines are the fast travel points in the open world. Bodhisattva Statues are the fast travel points exclusively found inside the 5 story-related Crucibles (dungeons). They always get marked on the map automatically from a long distance when you enter the area near them. You must go near the shrine for it to count as unlocked. Then the map icon will change from “locked “(dark green) to “unlocked” (bright green).
Shrines get marked on the map with a green shrine icon
and all Bodhisattva Statues get marked with a green statue icon
. All of them are marked automatically when you find other Collectibles to reach Exploration Level 4 within a region. On the map press
to view the collectible tracker for each region. You can then put a marker on them and follow the compass to locate them easily.
Nothing is missable, all areas are still explorable after the story in free-roam and all missions are replayable through the Battle Scroll at shrines.
The shrines are listed here in the in-game order of the Shrines List (press
on the map screen) for easy comparison. The in-game list order is different from the chronological order in which you visit the areas.
Recommended Use: activate all shrines as you play through the game and be careful to not miss any during missions. If you end up missing a shrine, use the list here to compare against your in-game shrine list to quickly identify what’s missing. On PS5 there’s also a tracker on the trophy (via trophy list) that shows how many total you got. If all in the open world show as complete, recheck all the ones inside missions. Only the “named” shrines count for the trophy. Unnamed Shrines during Side Missions don’t count. If you are missing just one Shrine, the most likely one is the final shrine before the endboss which is on a separate map that’s only visible in the final section of the story (Final Battle of Edo map).
Note: there actually seem to be only 155 Named Shrines, even though the trophy tracker shows 156. Players who ended up with 155/156 have reported that replaying Main Mission: Escape from Hitoko Slope and activating the shrines there again unlocks the trophy.

I’ve got the nightmare scenario where I’m at 155/156 shrines and statues but I’ve 100 percented all areas of the map, only trophy I need for the platinum too
Matthew pace says
If I replay a mission do shrines I’ve previously activated show on the map?
PowerPyx says
No, they will all appear as “locked” again. The game doesn’t provide a way to see which mission ones you got before. You’d have to activate them all again (or remember which ones you activated).
Also make sure you got the shrines in Mount Kurama (north of Heian) because that region doesn’t have a map tracker.
Matthew pace says
Seems Iike all the statues count towards completion on the world map with exception of the ones in the final mission and the two edo missions, I must have missed one there thanks for the great guide
Matthew pace says
I’ve found all the shrines for sure even ones that don’t count toward map completion

Hi, I’m having the same issue as the person in this post: 155/156 shrines. I’ve replayed all missions and interacted with every shrine again. After thoroughly exploring the map, I’m confident I have 100% of the shrines in the open world, including those that aren’t tracked by progress. At this point, it seems like either a bug, or I have no idea where else something could be hidden.
Gill says
I had the 155 issue but i just did hitokoto slope mission again and got trophy
ymnik says
Works for me
Thanks!
jd says
this is totally happening to me. i’ve redone the first and last mission. no luck popping the trophy. im losing my mind. what could it be. it shows all the shrines on the world map already been done..
archie says
if u all stuck at 155 just do hitokoto slope mission again somehow, they add/relocate the 3rd shrine
harry2517 says
I also had 155/156. In my case the missing one was the second shrine in the very first mission Edo -> Escape From Edo Castle. Trophy popped immediately after I touched the shrine.
