Number Puzzle Locations & Solutions
Number Box 1: Inside the Underground Temple right after receiving Shiden. Before heading out of the temple there will be a chest on your right. To open the box you will need to complete the number challenge. The answer key is to rotate the left side of 4 numbers once, the right side of four numbers once and then the left side of numbers once more. The box will open and the Rope Ladder will be inside.
Number Box 2: After the cutscene with Yumamaru and Kaede in the abandoned keep head through the door at the end of the corridor and head through to the room with the stairs ahead. Go in the doorway under the stairs and you will see this box as soon as you enter the room. The answer key for this box is rotate the left four once, the right four once, the left four once and the right four twice. This will open the box giving you the Bow.
Number Box 3: In keep underground once you head through the door you used the Purifier Bell to open head through the door straight ahead and you will see a door locked by green plasma with two locks. Head through the door and head to the green glow at the other end of the room and look to Samanosuke’s right and there will be a large box. Interact with it and you will have to solve the puzzle in three turns. The solution for this box is to turn the center four numbers once, the left four numbers once and then the right four numbers once.
Number Box 4: In West Area as Kaede once you use the Silver and Gold plates to open the door leading into the burning building go through the door which will lead to a small room with a set of steps, head up those steps. In the next room there will be another large box. Interact with it to start this puzzle. The solution to the puzzle is to spin the center set of four, the left set of four twice and then the right set of four twice.
Number Box 5: After using the Decorated Sword to enter the East Area head along the path and over the bridge to the door that is locked behind a 2 lock green plasma. Open the door and head down the first hallway on the left. At the end of this hallway is a scroll on the wall. Collect the scroll and head through the door. Continue straight along that path until you get to the door on your left. Head through that door and head through the door with the level three plasma lock requiring a maxed Arashi. Continue forward until you get to the waterfall. Take out the enemies and head behind the waterfall to find this number box. To solve the box rotate the bottom left. top right, bottom right, bottom left and then bottom right.
Number Box 6: After getting to the second magic mirror as Kaede in the East Area continue into the next room. follow that hallway and instead of going in the door straight ahead of you instead use the door on the opposite side of that wall in the nook. Once inside the room proceed to where the ladder is and head up into the next room where the box is. To solve this box rotate the left four twice, middle four once, right four twice and the middle four twice
