Most notably, we need to finish the game on “Very Hard” difficulty (which funnily is a silver and beating any difficulty is gold). With some luck it might stack the trophy for “Hard” when beating “Very Hard”. If not, then these might require separate playthroughs per difficulty.
For completion and collectibles we will need:
- 100 Pitch/Tossball Cards
- all volumes of Science Adventures Quarterly
- all mural pieces on Golden Ridge
- all grounding stations on Praetor
- all Excogitation audio logs on Cloister
- recruiting all companions
- completing all companion quests
- completing all faction quests for Order of the Ascendant + Auntie’s Choice
So overall this looks like a fairly challenging platinum that requires close to 100% completion.

Anti-consumerist looks like it could be a little annoying to do in combination with very hard difficulty if trying to do everything in one playthrough. Hopefully one faction isn’t exclusive to one playthrough.
NoHeroes94 says
Highly suspect you’re best doing a completionist playthrough then a Very Hard + No Spending playthrough.

The Outer Worlds 1 took me 2 playthroughs to earn the Platinum trophy, and most of the trophies were easy enough to earn, except for that 1 really annoying trophy where you have to use multiple unique science weapons on 1 enemy. I personally wish there weren’t difficulty trophies in RPGs like this, because that 2nd playthrough of the first game on the hardest difficulty just felt like a waste of time to me. It’s weird this game has a trophy where you seemingly can’t spend money, so that guarantees 2 playthroughs minimum for me.
DarkSurge says
Will very hard be similar to “SuperNova” from the first game, like with survival mechanics and such?
I wont platinum it if it is.
BKWscar says
You can do a 1h30m speedrun in the first game, guided by YouTube. It’s very easy.
George says
Hard and Very Hard difficulties are quite confusing. What differences might be between them? 1 hit kill with auto saves turned off or something? Really hope it’ll be possible to complete game in some kind of pacifist mode, where there’s no much need to struggle through games combat, which was awful in first game.
Cocoa says
In an interview the devs said that pacifist runs are possible but they think you will have to kill 1 enemy to complete the game in one section. Probably an unavoidable boss.
duggshot says
Gold for any difficulty? That’s a flex. Saw the Elemental Maelstrom one too—kill a monster with all damage types? Sounds fun.
Calypso says
Welp that’s gonna be a pass from me. Not interested in difficulty trophies.
KDIPZ says
Just look at the trophy and you’ll know you can’t continue playing after completing the game, just like the previous generation.
Ronse says
Will there be a full Trophy Guide out soon, as many people have acces to it now?
Cocoa says
Yep I actually missed a collectable in the prologue. One of the 100 cards is there. Now I need to restart the game. Thankfully I am only a few hours in. I want to find all the collectables my first playthrough because I think its the most tedious thing to do.
NoHeroes94 says
I’ve noticed this has dropped off the “next guides” list. Project abandoned?
Max says
You removed the upcoming guide from the calendar ?You no longer do it or it’s simply a mistake
PowerPyx says
The team member who was supposed to cover it dropped out. The guide is no longer happening.
Nisata86 says
Finally!!!, a difficulty trophy!!!
Challenging games are always platinum worthy.
Gregory SaintGregall says
Its a shame you guys aren’t doing the trophy guide anymore, hopefully you guys are able to put one out at some point.
Ronse says
Damn.. no guide. This is gonna be an annoying platinum
Cocoa says
The only hard trophy without the guide is the playing cards. Nobody has found all of them yet. There is not a single person with the platinum on psn profiles. They are so small and hard to see. Some arw hidden in very hard to see locations such as behind monster eggs. There are monster eggs everywhere in the game so if you arent breaking them all you are missing playing cards. Ive only found one behind monster eggs. Its on paradise Island the cave behind the landing pad. Break the eggs and it will reveal a small cave with a dead body in it. The body has a playing card. There are some playing card locations out on the internwt but more than half of the ones Ive found arent on the internet yet. So I might be one of the few people who have found thosw cards so far. Unfortunately I wasnt marking the locations down when I found them. But most named POI’s have at least one playing card. No doors that require a skill to open have playing cards inside unless there is an alternate route inside (e.g. through a vent or by finding and using a keycard). So you cant miss a playing card if you dont take a specific skill. The worst playing cards to find are the ones outside of names POI’s ive found a few. They are usually at the edge of the map somewhere. The ones ive found on the edge of the map arent online. So im assuming nobody is looking there. Check the edge of golden ridge, the edge of cloister, the edge of praetor. Ive found playing cards there. Also the APC claim has a few playing cards. I found 2 in Aunties offoce it requires a quest to get in. One is on a table another is hidden in a secret vent in the corner of the room.
Cocoa says
I don’t blame them for dropping out. Finding these playing card collectables is ridiculous. I looked everywhere on all the planets and I only found 70 of them. Then all the bugs…. I couldn’t unlock 3 trophies my first play through due to bugs. So many bugs when it comes to unlocking the trophies in this game. Some I had to redo multiple times just to unlock even though I was satisfying the conditions.
Nisata86 says
Ok, how about a guide without the cards trophy for now ? xD
Im so used to your guides that makes me feel something is missing ;(
TrickyLicky says
Is it true that no one has gotten the platinum yet? If so, no wonder the reviewer dropped out.
