Chapter 2: Regroup

Valley of Ashes

Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade #1
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Guidepost
Follow the main path until you pass a large wagon tipped on its side to the left. In the next area take the path to the right that leads to a wooden platform off the cliff edge where you then swing on a pole to progress. Before doing that, break the boxes to the left and this is in a chest in the dead end behind an enemy.

Amber #4: Indestructible Shell
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Guidepost
Along the main path immediately after the first Grenadier enemy, in a chest on the left before walking through the next metal carriage.

Quest: An Unheard Farewell – Step #1
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Guidepost
In the open area after the first Grenadier enemy, interact with the man speaking to you from the carriage window and agree to help him.

Weapon #2: Pistol
Required to progress. While going through the platforming section at the bridge, this is on the left in the train car.

Empty Ferrofluid Flask #1
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > The Climb
After the bridge platforming section, to the left of the next lantern in the chest.

Quest: An Unheard Farewell – Step #2
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > The Climb
While progressing through the cave after the lift, this automatically completes when you climb to the top of the ladder to exit the cave.

Quest: An Unheard Farewell – Step #3
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > The Climb
After climbing the cliff and reaching the second spot where you can shoot Nephtoglobin spots to release the lift, ride it back down to the central platform (you need to jump off while the lift is moving up or down). Opposite the path you originally took, there is now a wall of gold vines you can burn. In this area defeat the miniboss, then pick up the note “Letter to all Commanding Officers of the Line Infranty”.

Quest: An Unheard Farewell – Step #4 (Complete)
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Demolished Path
Continue up to the top of the area and you can kick down a ladder to get back to the first lantern along with the adjutant in the carriage. Speak to him and respond however you want, the reward is the same. You can rest at the Lantern nearby and then on the ground near the carriage you can pick up an Epic Catalyst Clot.

Amber #5: Sleight of Hand
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Demolished Path
Reward for completing side quest An Unheard Farewell.

Quest: The Oathbound – Step #1
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Demolished Path
From the area where you kick down the ladder, follow the path back down the plague vines and when you are behind the ground of 3 enemies, take the path to the left to find an enemy. Defeat them to start the quest and obtain key items Mysterious Stone Pyramid and Lucien Lafontaine’s Emblem.

Amber #6: Perfectionism
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Demolished Path
After defeating the first Eternal Guardian enemy, this is in a chest behind where they were standing.

Quest: The Emissary – Step #1
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > The Other Side
From the Lantern, go into the left area that is full of poison gas. In the carriage partway through the area you can pick up the key item Emissary’s Seal off a table.

Amber #7: Dominatus
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Military Camp
When progressing through the camp area with the explosive barrels all over, to the left of the hill you start progressing up there is a tent in a corner. Inside is a chest with this Amber.

Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade #2
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Military Camp
When progressing through the area where the Grenadier is throwing at you from a higher area, this is in a chest that is just to the right of where they were standing.

Amber #8: Potent Concoction
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Quarry
After climbing up the first wooden platforms and dropping down to the ledge, go to the right where there is a shortcut ladder, and opposite is some gold vines to burn. Behind them near a group of enemies is a chest with this Amber.

Amber #9: Marksman’s Bane
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > Quarry
After reaching the top of the area and riding the first zipline, go to the left instead of up the hill and there are some boxes to break on the edge of the platform. Behind the boxes you can see a path leading to the tower where an enemy is. Reach the tower to find a chest containing this amber.
