Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – Gatakis Shrine Walkthrough

May 11, 2023 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Gatakis Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is found in Hebra region (northwest), in Rito Village of Lake Totori. It will put your Paraglider tool to the test.

First, you must have advanced Main Quest Crisis at Hyrule Castle to get the Paraglider.

Gatakis Shrine Location

You must visit Rito Village for story purposes during Main Quest: Regional Phenomena, there you find the shrine.

Method 1: In the west of Lucky Clover Gazette is a Campfire. Toss a Hylian Pine Cone into it to create a gust of air, then use the Paraglider over it to fly across the broken bridge.

Method 2: From “Rospro Pass Skyview Tower” in Hebra Mountains, you can freefall/paraglide to Rito Village in Lake Totori. Use the Skyview tower north of the shrine to be catapulted in the air, immediately start to paraglide :l-up: towards the shrine until you have only 25% stamina left, then freefall and hold :l-up: , as you approach the shrine use your paraglider for your remaining 25% stamina to land safely. It’s a very long glide and may take a few tries. If you don’t fly far enough you can fast travel back to the skyview tower to retry instantly.

Gatakis Shrine Solution

  1. Jump off the ledge and press :x2: to paraglide over the gap.
  2. Stand on the left facing the two vertical lasers. Jump off the ledge and again :x2: to paraglide, between the two vertical lasers coming from the ceiling. You can glide safely through them.

  3. Drop down the hole with the moving platform, but don’t use your paraglider. Just fall with :r: but don’t speed up, there’s air coming from below that makes you fall very slowly so you can land without taking damage.
  4. Drop through the hole in the moving platform, this time hold :r: to speed up your freefall to break through the ice (don’t use paraglider). Don’t worry, it won’t damage you, the acceleration will break the ice. Alternatively, you can land on the ice and then do melee attacks on it or drop on it again to break it.
  5. Below the ice is a dark room with wind turbines and enemies. You must fly through the hole in the wall straight ahead where some enemies shoot lasers at you.
  6. After flying through the hole immediately activate the glider :x: to be lifted up by the airstream. This brings you right to the end of the shrine.

As usual, interact with the green shrine for 1 Light of Blessing. It will also restore your health and unlocks the shrine as a permanent fast travel point. Very useful for getting back to Rito Village.

For all other Shrines refer to Zelda Tears of the Kingdom All Shrines.
