Wild Escape is the seventh subquest in Prologue: Act 2, For A Tomorrow Without Tears, an Archon Quest in Genshin Impact. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Wild Escape Archon Subquest.
Wild Escape is unlocked automatically when you finish the previous subquest, Venti’s New Plan.

Mission Description: Escape from Mondstadt Cathedral with Venti.
Objectives:
- Use the wind currents to get far away from the Cathedral
- Hide on the second floor of the tavern
- Talk to Diluc
Starting Location: Outside Mondstadt Cathedral
This quest begins automatically after completing Venti’s New Plan.
Use the wind currents to get far away from the Cathedral
Immediately in front of you are wind currents. These propel you quickly in the direction they face. These will appear many times during your time in Teyvet.
Glide off the ledge and into a batch of wind current. Each wind current propels you into the next in a domino effect.
Several batches of wind currents lay in your path. The first batch takes you above the Anemo God Statue. Glide down a bit to the next set, which propels you to a rooftop nearby.
Glide off that rooftop into the next set of wind currents to reach a second rooftop. From there, look down to see the quest marker lead you to a doorway.
Make your way down and approach door to automatically enter the building.
Inside, you meet the mysterious red-haired man you saw briefly during your time in the domain with Kaeya. His name is Diluc, the owner of the Angels’ Share Tavern.
He directs you to sit on the second floor, since it’s “less conspicuous” up there.
Hide on the second floor of the tavern
Once the cutscene ends, follow the left wall to the winding staircase to reach the second floor.
Another cutscene automatically begins once you reach the top of the stairs. Two guards approach Diluc and ask where you and Venti went. He misdirects the guards and they leave the tavern.
Talk to Diluc
Walk back down the stairs to speak with Diluc. The conversation begins automatically as you approach.
Venti explains the situation to Diluc through a song. Since this plan goes against the way the Knights of Favonius want to handle Stormterror, Diluc agrees to help you.
Once you complete the cutscene, the Wild Escape subquest automatically completes.
