Onimusha Way of the Sword contains 9 Hozuki Pouch locations. Finding and fully upgrading all Hozuki Pouches unlocks the Medical Marvel trophy & achievement.
The first time you get the opportunity to reach upgrade your pouch is when you speak with Okuni during the mission “Patching up the Pouch”. She will send you to get the materials to upgrade the pouch to its first level. The 5 Skeleton Hozuki must be collected as well as the 4 other Hozuki (Regeneration, Aggressor, Resistance, Awakening).
You can still free-roam and find all collectibles up until the Point of No Return before the final mission “The Clash At Rendaino”. If you keep a manual save from this point, then you can still clean up everything from there.

Hozuki Pouch Locations
Hozuki Pouch #1: Oni Cloth Regeneration
Located at the Pouch Marker in the Southeast portion of Kyoto:
You cannot reach this from the street but instead have to go into the courtyard to the north and work your way through until you can get to the rooftops where you can cross the street and drop down. Once below, activate your Oni Power to reveal the Oni Marker. Interact with it to reveal this chest.
Hozuki Pouch #2: Skeleton Hozuki 1
Located at the Pouch Marker in the Southeast portion of Kyoto:
Located in the chest just inside the Oni Gate. You cannot reach this from the street but instead have to go into the courtyard to the north and work your way through until you can get to the rooftops where you can cross the street and drop down to this chest.
Hozuki Pouch #3: Oni Cloth (Aggressor)
Located at the Pouch Marker in the Southwest of Kyoto:
Head around the Southern side of the houses and through the attic in the southern home. Head through until you get to the Oni Gate where you need to destroy the 2 genma to open the gate. Destroy them and defeat the enemies inside the gate. Once inside the gate head to the right and you will see a spot you can crawl under a wall. Head underneath and use your Oni Vision to reveal the Oni Spot which will unveil a chest containing this.
Hozuki Pouch #4: Skeleton Hozuki 2
Located at the Pouch Marker in the Southwest of Kyoto:
Head around the Southern side of the houses and through the attic in the southern home. Head through until you get to the Oni Gate where you need to destroy the 2 genma to open the gate. Destroy them and defeat the enemies inside the gate. Once inside the gate head to the right and you will find a chest in the alcove containing this item.
Hozuki Pouch #5: Oni Cloth (Resistance)
Located at the Pouch Marker South of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror:
Head to the West side of the buildings and you will find a ladder you can climb on the roof of a house. Use the Oni Agility to run across into the courtyard. Make your way through until you get to the Malice Barrier. Break open the barrier and use your Oni Vision to reveal the chest with this cloth.
Hozuki Pouch #6: Skeleton Hozuki 3
Located at the Pouch Marker South of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror:
Head to the West side of the buildings and you will find a ladder you can climb on the roof of a house. Use the Oni Agility to run across into the courtyard. Make your way through until you get to the Malice Barrier. That is where you will find the chest containing this item.
Hozuki Pouch #7: Oni Cloth (Awakening)
Located at the Pouch Marker Northeast of the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror:
Head into the area and open the Oni wall by killing the spider hand. Head through and beat the Byakue and proceed forward. In the next courtyard you will be attacked by a variety of Genma while Special Form Hitotsume Gasa’s will be shooting at you from the walls. Once defeated crawl through the scaffolding in the Northwest and out into the area beyond. Use your Oni Vision to reveal the chest with this cloth.
Hozuki Pouch #8: Skeleton Hozuki 4
Located at the Pouch Marker Northeast of the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror:
Head into the area and open the Oni wall by killing the spider hand. Head through and beat the Byakue and proceed forward. In the next courtyard you will be attacked by a variety of Genma while Special Form Hitotsume Gasa’s will be shooting at you from the walls. Once defeated look to the Northern portion of the courtyard where you will find this chest.

Found in the Hidden Oni Treasure #5 chest during the “Hidden Treasure No. 5” Chance Encounter:

- Level 1 – Obtained automatically through the mission “Patching up the Pouch”
- Level 2 – 2 Hampen Cloth + 2 Cotton Cloth + 2 Leather + 1 Fine Silk Cloth
- Level 3 – 3 Cotton Cloth + 2 Leather + 1 Fine Silk Cloth + 1 Skeleton Hozuki

- Level 1 – Default
- Level 2 – 2 Hempen Cloth + 2 Cotton Cloth + 2 Leather

Once you have upgraded all of these Pouches you will receive the Medical Marvel trophy.
