In Moonlighter 2, there are a total of 165 relics spread across the 3 regions of the game. All relics are found within chests in these areas and will be the items you sell in your shop to make money. Each relic can be sold at 4 different types of price points, that all have different effects that can be beneficial to you, or can make you lose money overall.
- Cheap – Selling for cheap will increase the perk meter and you’ll make less money off the sale. There are some perks and special customers that will benefit from selling items for cheap.
- Perfect – Selling an item at its perfect price will increase the perk meter and make you the most money in the long run. Unless you have specific perks, it’s recommended to always sell at the perfect price. You can find all the perfect prices for the relics further below.
- Expensive – Selling an item over its perfect price will make you more money, but won’t increase the perk meter. It’s not really recommended to sell items for this price however, since you’ll end up making less money in the long run as there aren’t many perks that benefit from selling the item at this price range.
- Overpriced – Customers won’t buy items that are overpriced and get angry. Only the rich customer will buy items that are overpriced, but only up to a certain amount. It’s never recommended to set items in this price range.
Quality
Each relic will have a quality icon next to it, denoted by a star icon. For each level of quality, the price will increase by 5%. You don’t need to adjust the price yourself for items with a higher quality, as the percentage is added to the final price of the item. The starting cap of quality is 999, but this can be upgraded later. Below are upgrades and items you can use to increase the base quality of items and items you find during your runs. It’s recommended to upgrade some of these as you go as it’ll make earning money a lot better. Most of them can also be upgraded to improve their stats.
Tomo’s Research
- Weapon Highlight Upgrade – Increases quality of relics found if using the highlighted weapon before starting your run.
- Double Chests – Gains the ability for chest to sometimes spawn 2. While not directly linked to increasing quality, this will increase the chance of gaining extra chests, which will lead to more relics. This stacks with the Mirror Market patch.
- Rarity Relics Quality Upgrades – All these skills will increase the quality multiplier on the specified rarity
- Deluxe Relics Upgrades – Unlocks the ability to find Deluxe relics, which will have a massive base quality compared to non-deluxe relics. You can also upgrade the chance of finding them, and base quality.
Le Patchelier
- Twinkle Token – This patch increases the base quality of relics.
- Lucky Loot – This patch increases the chance to find Deluxe relics.
- Mirror Market – Chance that chests will appear in pairs. While not directly linked to increasing quality, this will increase the chance of gaining extra chests, which will lead to more relics. This stacks with the Double Chests upgrade.
- Flaming Fortune – Gives you reroll dice so you can reroll which relics or perks you can pick from. While not directly linked to increasing quality, the ability to reroll to find specific perks or relics is very helpful for maximizing your quality and profits.
Spark
- Spark Unlocked – Unlocks the ability to find Spark during exploration, which in exchange for making your run more difficult, will give you massive quality increasing perks.
- Spark Overclocked – While not directly linked to increasing quality, you’ll find Spark a lot faster when upgrading all of these perks, leading to more quality increases.
- Long-Term Reward – Increases the percentage of your relics depending on how many Spark perks you picked up throughout the run when you return to Tresna.
- Short-Term Reward – Increases the quality of found relics depending on how many Spark perks you picked up.
- Limit Break – Increases the quality cap on relics.
It’s highly recommended to upgrade these as they’ll help make more money, and will also make doing the Endless Golden Vault later into the game a lot easier.
Curses
Most of the relics will come with a curse, which usually ends up benefiting you if placed correctly in your inventory. There are 2 types of curses, which are effects and triggers. Triggers will be present throughout ever area, but the effects will be different depending on the region you’re in. You’ll want to try and maximize the curses as best as you can to get as much quality increase as possible during your run.
Curse Triggers
- Back to Tresna – Triggers when returning back to Tresna.
- Corner – Triggers when the item is placed in a corner slot. If the item isn’t placed in a corner slot, the curse effect will not trigger.
- Each Time – Triggers every time the listed effect is applied to the item.
- Left-Right – Triggers when placed on the left or right wall of the inventory. If the item isn’t placed on the left or right walls, the curse effect will not trigger.
- Next Time – Triggers when the listed effect happens again.
- Once Placed – Triggers once the item is placed anywhere in your inventory.
- Ongoing – Triggers when the relic is in the backpack.
- Pointed – Triggers when the arrow is pointing at an item in the inventory. If there is no item in the direction it’s pointed at, the curse effect will not trigger.
- Top-Bottom – Triggers when placed at the top or bottom wall of the inventory. If the item isn’t placed at the top or the bottom, the curse effect will not trigger.
Curse Effects (Kalina)
- Armor – Applies armor to pointed at item. Protects the item from being destroyed by Burn.
- Burn – Burns the item it’s pointed at, destroying it.
- Burned – Triggers when the item is burned by another relic’s curse. This will destroy the item as well however, unless protected by Armor.
Curse Effects (The Gallery)
- Shock – Applies shock to pointed at item and then self-destructs the original item. Increases its quality, but puts it into overcharged state.
- Shocked – Triggers when the item is shocked by another relics curse. This will put the item into overcharged, or destroy it if already overcharged.
- Overcharged – Item will have an increased quality, but shocking it again will destroy it. Overcharged state can be removed with a battery, which will self destruct afterwards.
Curse Effects (Aeolia)
- Absorb – Absorbs the quality of the pointed at item, destroying it.
- Petrify – Applies Petrified to the pointed at item, turning them into a crystal. These crystals will be destroyed upon returning back to Tresna.
- Petrified – Triggers when the item is petrified by another relics curse. This will convert the item into a crystal.
Relics
There are 5 rarity of relics to find throughout your run. They are all found in specific types of nodes in the dungeons.
- Common – Found in every chest.
- Uncommon – Found in chest nodes with a green background.
- Rare – Found in chest nodes with a blue background.
- Epic – Small chance to be found in chests after defeating bosses. Once you acquire the Luminous Pendant, you can also find in chest nodes with a purple background, and after minibosses.
- Legendary – Won’t appear until after acquiring the Luminous Pendant. Found in chests after clearing the boss at the end of a dungeon and sometimes minibosses. Once you acquire Laurel Wreath, you can also find chest nodes with orange backgrounds.
