Sever the Hedron Links is the 10th main mission in the Contain the Crisis questline in Control Resonant. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Sever the Hedron Links main quest.
- Main Story: Contain the Crisis / Defeat the Hedron
- Starting Location: Downtown > The Oldest House
- Requirement: Complete The Hedron Link
- Reward: 1 x Living Shard,
Stop it At the Source trophy/achievement - Quest Description: After destroying the first Hedron Link, two more slammed into the Patterned city above the Oldest House. I’ll disrupt the Pattern and sever both. Then I’ll go after the Hedron itself.
Objectives:

- Progress Pope’s Research Side Mission
- Sever the Link Near the Patterned Evac Building
- Sever the Link Near the Patterned Field Office
Reach the Unknown
To return to The Unknown zone, you first need to go back into the Oldest House. Go to the elevator on the floor above Pope and choose Roof Access. This will take you back to where you entered the Unknown previously.
You can activate the Oldest House Rooftop fast travel door down to the left, so you can get here without using the elevator in the future.
Progress Pope’s Research Side Mission
Once you are in the Unknown, you need to progress the side mission Pope’s Research to be able to reach the main part of the area as well as the areas where the two Hedron Links are. This involves finding balloons, cut them down to reveal a crate, break it with an attack to reveal probes, place the probes in the red circles near the balloon. The locations where to place the probes will appear on the minimap in the top right corner, and they will beep when you get close to the correct spot. You must place them in the correct order too, then a Gravity Well appears that takes you to the next island. All the islands in The Unknown are connected by these Balloons and Gravity Well, there’s one Pope Research on each island (and two in the big Central island).

Sever the Link Near the Patterned Evac Building
Once you reach the south island with the path that leads to the Evac Building, find the spot where you can see the platforms leading to the island with the link going to it. Jump across and interact with the TV.
Inside this area is the Hedron Factor boss. This boss spawns single heavy enemies at a time that you need to defeat. After each set of two when the health bar hits the blue dot, you need to defeat a bunch of weaker enemies while avoiding mines that it will drop on the ground every so often. Once the heavy enemies spawn, focus on them again, and repeat until the boss is defeated.
Sever the Link Near the Patterned Field Office
Once you reach the northeast island with the path leading back to the Oldest House, find the spot where you can see the platforms leading up to the island with the link going to it. Jump across and interact with the TV.
Inside this area is the Hedron Proxy boss. This boss is made up of a bunch of the heavy brick enemies, and it will send them out from the main body to attack you. Wait for them to charge and dodge out of the way, then attack them to deal damage. Once you get to the final few heavy enemies it will also start spawning groups of small enemies on the ground, which you should watch out for while tracking the large enemies.
Once you have defeated both bosses in whichever order, you will complete the mission.
