New Growth is a side quest in Control Resonant. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the New Growth side mission. It’s one of the requirements toward the Budding Mycologist trophy & achievement.
- Starting Location: The Park > FBC Base (on rooftop)
- Requirement: Can be started in multiple ways. Either by manually talking to the female soldier on the rooftop of FBC Base in The Park, or you will get it automatically by completing Side Quest: Zoe’s Briefing.
- Reward:
Budding Mycologist. You must finish New Growth and the Carbon Copy questline to unlock this trophy. - Quest Description: Dr. Raya Underhill, the head researcher of the Mold, has gone missing. Her work is important, especially now. I hope I find her still alive.

- Investigate Underhill’s Office in Central Executive
- Search Underhill’s Apartment
- Collect the Equipment & Find the Test Subjects at the Lab
- Track Down and Defeat the Test Subjects

Starting Location: New Growth
Starting Method 1: Complete Side Quest: Zoe’s Briefing and you’ll start New Growth automatically.
Starting Method 2: If you haven’t done Zoe’s Briefing quest, you can directly talk to the female soldier on top of the FBC Base roof in The Park and she’ll give the quest.
Ask Around About Underhill
Ask the soldier right next to the FBC Base Fast Travel door in The Park. There are various ways to get to the roof, you can either power the elevator by bringing electricity to it. Or more easily you can go through the sewers in the north-east of the Park, then you’ll emerge on the street east of the FBC Base and can jump over to the roof.
Investigate Underhill’s Last Known Location
Now head south of the fast travel door, to a small roof.
Here, grab the letter from the table.
Investigate Underhill’s Office in Central Executive
Now head to the Central Executive section of the FBC building.
Here, go upstairs and turn left. Enter the door with Lvl 6 clearance and grab the letter from the desk.
Search Underhill’s Apartment
Head to the upper right side of The Park area and enter the building.
Go upstairs and enter the first door on the left side. You will find Dr. Underhill in the kitchen area. Talk to her.
Collect the Equipment & Find the Test Subjects at the Lab
Now exit the building, turn left, go around the corner, and enter the underground area.
Turn left at the crossing, go through the door, and interact with the table on the right side.
Now go around the corner near the table and jump down to find the first Test Subject. Interact with the white mold.
Track Down and Defeat the Test Subjects
After you interact with the mold, follow it, and it will turn into an enemy. Defeat it.
You can find another Test Subject somewhere in the underground area. Keep an eye on the map for a cloud symbol with an exclamation mark. Here you find the test subject.
Follow it to the outside and kill it when it turns into an enemy.
The next subject should be south of the previous test subject that you just killed.
Follow it again and kill it when it turns into an enemy.
Return to Underhill
Now head back to Dr. Underhill and talk to her.
This finishes New Growth side quest in Control Resonant.
