Dead Space Remake Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent Collectibles Locations

Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent contains 33 Collectible Locations in Dead Space Remake. This walkthrough is updated for the PS5 Remake version and will guide you to all collectibles in Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies and 100% completion is included: Logs, Schematics, Weapons, Weapon Upgrades, Suit Upgrades, Nodes, Side Missions, Chapter-Specific Trophies, Marker Fragments.

Everything located on the USG Ishimura is unmissable until the Point of No Return at the end of Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions, except for a small number of action-dependent logs that only trigger when doing certain actions at specific story points. The guide will list everything when it first becomes available in an efficient order, but if you miss anything you can go through the Ishimura when you have full access in Chapter 11. Everything in Chapter 9: Dead On Arrival is missable, so be sure to collect everything during this chapter. Marker Fragments are only available in New Game+. You can still grab missing Collectibles in New Game Plus, all progress carries over.

Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent Collectibles

Important: It’s impossible to get all Logs in Chapter 4 in a single playthrough! Log 60 / Log 65 / Log 69 cancel out each other – can only get two out of three logs per playthrough. Whichever ‘reroute power’ objective you do last won’t give a log on this playthrough, must get your missing one in New Game Plus. Following the order here we will get Logs 60 & 65 this playthrough. In New Game+ remember to get Log 69 by rerouting power to Water Purification first. This doesn’t affect trophies because only 150 of 188 logs are needed.

Log 52 – The Marker
Story-related. Automatically after arriving at the Bridge Tram Station.

Log 53 – Bridge Attack
After the hull breach in Main Atrium, turn right to find this on the floor near where the ground was damaged.

 

Log 54 – Eckhardt’s Clearance
Follow the main objective, this is inside the Captain’s Nest, on the right.

 

Log 55 – More Time
To the left of the previous log.

[VOIDS A LOG IN CHAPTER 7] Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized
Interact with the console next to the logs. You will need to find all Rigs and return them here. They are all included throughout the collectible guide, you can’t find them all right away, we’ll pick them up in the remaining chapters and return here later. If you start the side mission by interacting with the panel, you won’t be able to get one of the logs in chapter 7. If you are wanting to collect all logs for completion, simply ignore this until later. You can still collect the rigs for the side mission, they just won’t be marked on the map.

 

Security Clearance Level 2
Story-related. Automatically after finishing the conversation with Hammond in Captain’s Nest.

[HIGHLY MISSABLE] Log 56 – Shoot It In the Back
After returning to the Main Atrium, you will encounter the first Brute. Instead of attacking it, run away from it for about 30 seconds and Hammond will call you. This is missable – don’t attack it until you get the call – can double-check that it registered in the Database under Chapter 4 Logs!

Node 14
Dropped by the Brute in Main Atrium.

 

Log 57 – Captain’s Fate
Inside the Armory of the Security Room (where the Brute came from), next to the workbench.

 

Node 15
Enter the elevator, select Floor 2. This is inside the Storage Room near Mining Administration on Floor 2, where a vacuum is created.

 

Log 58 – Electrical Fault
Story-related. Automatically as you approach Mining Administration.

Weapon 7 – Contact Beam
Floor 2 – on the floor inside Records Office. Requires Security Clearance Level 2.

 

Log 59 – Tracking Infection
Floor 2 – After entering Mining Administration, turn right to go inside Admin Server Maintenance. Requires Security Clearance Level 2. In order to unlock the first door, head south on the map to Main Fuses and shoot the fuse on the wall to unlock it.

[SEMI-MISSABLE] Log 60 – Mining Admin Rerouted
Story-related. Automatically after rerouting power from Mining Administration.
Log 60 / Log 65 / Log 69 cancel out each other – can only get two out of three logs per playthrough. Whichever power you reroute last won’t give a log on this playthrough, must get your missing one in New Game Plus. Following the order you here we will get Logs 60 & 65 this playthrough. In New Game+ remember to reroute the power in Water Purification first to get Log 69.

Log 61 – Believers
Backtrack to the elevator and select Floor 3. Inside Break Room near Electrical Systems on Floor 3, automatically upon entering and looking at the orange screen.

 

Log 62 – Unitology Article
On a bench in the corner in the same room.

Log 63 – Unknown (Side Missions)
While in the same room, stand inside the circle painted on the floor. You will notice it has various hand and foot prints going around it. This is a code that you must input via melee :r1: and stomp :r2: attacks. While standing inside the circle, perform the following: Melee, Stomp, Stomp, Stomp, Melee, Stomp, Melee, Stomp, Stomp, Stomp, Melee, Stomp. The log will appear on the floor. If it doesn’t work, try doing the triple stomps in succession quickly.

Log 64 – Strange Shanty (Side Missions)
Another secret log acquired by inputting a secret code into the circle (the answer to which is found spread around the Ishimura). Perform the following: Melee, Stomp, Melee, Melee, Stomp, Melee, Stomp, Melee, Melee, Melee, Melee, Stomp. The log will appear on the floor.

Node 17+18
The last secret to be unlocked from the circle (the code is found inside the Captain’s room in Chapter 10). Perform the following: Melee, Melee, Stomp, Melee, Melee, Stomp, Stomp, Melee, Melee, Melee, Stomp, Stomp. The two nodes will appear on the floor.

Weapon Upgrade 6 – P.C.S.I Custom Magazine (Pulse Rifle)
Floor 3 – inside Electrical Systems Storage on a shelf. In order to access the room, stand by the broken window and use kinesis to move the boxes by the door, then shoot the fuse to unlock it.

 
 

Node 19
Dropped by the Brute in Electrical Systems.

 

[SEMI-MISSABLE] Log 65 – Watch the Outlets
Story-related. Automatically after rerouting power from Electrical Systems.
Log 60 / Log 65 / Log 69 cancel out each other – can only get two out of three logs per playthrough. Whichever power you reroute last won’t give a log on this playthrough, must get your missing one in New Game Plus. Following the order you here we will get Logs 60 & 65 this playthrough. In New Game+ remember to reroute the power in Water Purification first to get Log 69.

Log 66 – Med-Sci Reports
Story-related. Automatically as you head back to the elevator.

Weapon Upgrade 7 – Supersymmetry Tether (Contact Beam)
After taking the elevator back to the Main Atrium, go through the door to The Crew Deck and purchase from Shop for 12,000 Credits.

Log 67 – Looking for Elizabeth
Enter the second elevator in Main Atrium to Water Purification. On the floor in the first room after exiting the elevator in Water Purification.

 

Log 68 – Manual Targeting?
Story-related. Automatically after having cleared all 3 rerouting power objectives.

[SEMI-MISSABLE] Log 69 – Water Purification
Story-related. Automatically after rerouting power from Water Purification (unavailable on this playthrough, must get it in New Game+ by rerouting power to Water Purification first).
Log 60 / Log 65 / Log 69 cancel out each other – can only get two out of three logs per playthrough. Whichever power you reroute last won’t give a log on this playthrough, must get your missing one in New Game Plus. Following the order you here we got Logs 60 & 65 this playthrough but you won’t be able to get Log 67 “Water Purification”. In New Game+ remember to reroute the power in Water Purification first to get Log 69!

Schematics 6 – Intermediate Engineer Rig
Inside EVA Prep Room, on your right on the way to the ADS Cannons.

 

Log 70 – Sync the ADS Cannons
Story-related. Automatically after going up the elevator.

Log 71 – Hold On (Side Missions)
Immediately after the previous log, on the wall next to the save station. This gets added under the “Side Missions” logs, not under Chapter 4 logs.

 

White’s Rig (Item for Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized)
At the end of the ADS section, found floating on a ledge to the left.

 

 

Remember that when checking your Chapter 4 logs you will be missing one. This is normal because one of the three ‘rerouting power’ logs is always unobtainable, if you followed the order here you won’t have Log 69 “Water Purification”, so go do that objective first in New Game+ and you will get it. This doesn’t affect trophies because you only need 150 of 188 logs total.

That’s 100% of the collectibles in Chapter 4: Obliteration of Dead Space PS5 / PC Remake.

    Been running around from the Brute now for like 5 mins, and no call from Hammond. This isn’t working for me, so that’s two things now (The Medium Med Pack Schematic in chapter 3 isn’t there either).

      Also, upon reloading and watching it bust through the door again, I started running for about 10 seconds, and the trophy popped for killing a Brute and it just died. I didn’t even fire a single shot at it?

      I did it a few times and one time the call wouldn’t trigger for me either but worked all other times. A few collectibles like that are a bit glitchy I think. Had it happen on another log in Chapter 8 that’s also from a call and worked fine on my first try but when I went to capture it, wouldn’t trigger, then fixed it by reloading older save. Saw some other comments that people don’t get collectibles to spawn at random, game seems to have issues spawning in some stuff, but it’s rare, and fixable in New Game+.

    I finished chapter 4 but never got the “story related” Med-Sci Reports log.

      This one actually has the same requirements as Watch the Outlets. If you reroute electrical systems last you miss both logs.

    You got mistake in Nods numeration. The last one here you have is Node 17, but the next Chapter you start with Node 20. Where are missing Node 18 and 19?

      It was updated to include 2 new ones, as well as 2 new logs, and the numbers in the following chapters were adjusted to match. If you had the page loaded from before it was updated, that would explain it. The new ones now on this page are Nodes 17+18.
