Mohgwyn Palace is a secret area in Elden Ring, found very late into the game. This guide shows how to get to Mohgwyn Palace step by step.
1. Get to West Mountaintops
First you will have to reach another secret area called Mountaintops of the Giants: West. You can simply go there from the other parts of the Mountaintops. Instead, you must go through a series of secret steps to use an elevator that brings you there. If you haven’t been there yet follow this guide How to Get to West Mountaintops. It’s a multi-step questline in of itself. Then continue with the next steps below.
2. Use Portal in West Mountaintops
Reach to the far west edge of the West Mountaintops. At the cliffside you can find a portal with some blood in the snow. As you approach, you should be invaded by Sanguine Noble (check for him around a big tree just a few meters east of the portal). After defeating him the portal will open up. Then interact with that portal and it will teleport you to Mohgwyn Palace. See the exact location in the images below.

The Portal to shardbearer Mohg is not active for me, do you know why?
Hmm I think I went there after having went through Ordina, Liturgical Town and arrived at Haligtree Canopy for the first time. I’m not aware of that specifically being required but that’s the first thing that comes to my mind as it opens another portal (the one from Ordina to Haligtree). Another idea if that doesn’t work; maybe beating Mohg, the Omen is needed (in sewers of Royal Capital). Because Mohgwyn Palace contains an upgraded version of this boss called Shardbearer Mohg.
There was also a red invader NPC near the big tree east of the portal to Mohgwyn Palace (in west mountaintops) that I defeated.
Please let me know if either of this unlocks the portal for you. I’ll do some more digging in the meantime.
Ive done everything you said except for killing that red Npc hes pretty tough, i think i need to kill him in order to get the portal to work. I’ll let you know if I kill him.
There is a way that is a lot easier.
You need not to kill Varre on your first Meeting and exhaust his dialogue. He then appears in Liurnia at the “Rose Church” and gives you 5 Fingers that you can use to Invade other Players. Use them all (even if some people say 3 are enough) in any way winning or loosing doesnt matter.
Then return to him and he gives you a cloth and asks you to present it with blood from a maiden. You then need to return to the starting chapel via the Bellfries in Liurnia close to Varres new Location, or go to the Frenzied Village CHapel. Both work, interact with the Maiden Corpses, get the Blood, return to Varre at the Rose Church.
After that you you get an item that allows you to teleport instantly to Moghs Palace, and even allows you to skip half of his area. You then can also summon Varre there and Invade and kill him to get his gear.
You have to defeat the Sanguine Noble invader before it will activate the portal.
