Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Moore Questline Walkthrough

The merchant NPC called Moore has a secret side questline in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. This walkthrough shows the full solution. Completing this questline rewards you with Moore’s full equipment set, consisting of a heavy Greatshield and heavy armor. There are 3 choices at the end that lead to change how the last step of the quest unfolds, but you always get Moore’s full equipment set regardless of what you choose.

Missable Warning: Steps 2-4 are only possible before approaching Shadow Keep, which breaks the Great Rune. However, if you’ve already been to Shadow Keep you can skip Steps 2-4 and can still finish Moore’s Questline for the reward (in this case only Step 1 + Step 5 are needed). The questline is still doable until the Point of No Return which happens when you burn the Sealing Tree at Church of the Bud (after Romina boss). You also have to do it before Thiollier & St. Trina Questline (Thiollier goes away but you need him for Moore’s questline).

Walkthrough

Step 1: Talk to Thiollier at “Pillar Path Cross” site of grace. Exhaust all dialogues until his “purchase/sell” menu comes up.

Step 2: Talk to Moore at “Main Gate Cross” site of grace. Choose “Talk to Moore”. Moore gives you “Black Syrup” and asks you to give it to Thiollier. [If you’ve already been to Shadow Keep, he will not give the Black Syrup, in this case skip to Step 5]

Step 3: Give the Black Syrup to Thiollier at “Pillar Path Cross” > then choose “Ask about black syrup” > “I’m weary of life” > he gives you “Thiollier’s Concotion”. You have to finish this step before going through St. Trina’s questline because Thiollier will then move away. [If you’ve already been to Shadow Keep, and Moore didn’t give the Black Syrup, skip to Step 5]

Step 4: Advance the story until you reach the Shadow Keep. When you approach the Shadow Keep you will get two text pop-ups on the screen saying “Somewhere, a great rune has been broken…” > “And so too has a powerful charm.” At this point you unlock new dialogue with Moore. [If you’ve already been to Shadow Keep you can skip this step]

Step 5: Return to Moore at “Pillar Path Cross”. He will talk about the Great Rune now being broken, then select “Talk to Moore”. You now have 3 dialogue options, what you pick determines how the rest of the quest unfolds. Picking Option #2 “Remain sad forever” is the easiest method. But regardless of which option you choose, you always get Moore’s full equipment set as a reward, so it doesn’t really matter.

Choice 1: Put it behind you

If you choose this, Moore becomes your enemy. You will fight him and other characters in Enir-Ilim just before the Endboss. Moore then drops his full equipment set after the fight. You can’t miss Moore in this case as it’ll be a mandatory story fight later on. This will make the fight before the endboss harder because Moore spawns as an extra enemy alongside other enemies. Meaning, you will have one more enemy to fight.

Choice 2: Remain sad forever (EASIEST OPTION)

If you choose this, Moore kills himself. You find his corpse at the cliffs north of “Church of the Crusade”. You can head there right away. He will have dropped his full equipment set in this place. This is the easiest option as you won’t have to fight Moore later and you get his full equipment immediately with no extra steps required.

Choice 3: I don’t know > Leave

If you choose “I don’t know”, you will then have to leave and kill two Forager Broods, then talk to Moore, then you have to fight Moore. This involves the most steps of all 3 choices and is the most work for you (not as quick as Option #2).

1. Kill Forager Brood: Found outside Church District Entrance on the cliffs. You go here through Moorth Ruins > Bonny Village > follow the road (see red path outlined below).
   
   
2. Talk to Moore again at “Main Gate Cross”.
3. Kill another Forager Brood: found at the cliffs north of “Church of the Crusade”.
    
4. Immediately upon killing the second Forager Brood, you will be invaded by Moore (red phantom ghost). Defeat him and he’ll drop his full gear set.
   
5. Return to where you first talked to Moore at “Main Gate Cross”, he will have left behind “Moore’s Bell Bearing”.

As a reward (regardless of which option you choose), you get Moore’s full gear set consisting of: Verdigris Greatshield, Verdigris Helm, Verdigris Armor, Verdigris Gauntlets, Verdigris Greaves, Moore’s Bell Bearing.

This finishes Moore’s questline.
