Abyssal Woods is the hidden area in the east of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. It requires punching a secret wall in Shadow Keep. A map piece is also found there, which is required to unfog the map.
How to reach the Abyssal Woods in East of Shadow of the Erdtree
This video shows the full path from start to end:
Step 1: Start by going to Shadow Keep > Main Gate Plaza site of grace. Go through the gate on the right, if it’s locked you must take the long path around the left.
Step 2: Go upstairs and turn right, there are some small black enemies and what looks like burning boats. At the end of this path on the left you can climb down a ladder to a flooded area. Go through the waterfall and down another ladder. It leads to a hidden room with a red painting.
Step 3: Attack the hidden wall to the right of the red painting, the wall will disappear.
Step 4: Go through the now-open wall and interact with the coffin to be teleported to the Castle Watering Hole.
Step 5: Now keep heading south, you need to ride the Spectral Steed mount to jump over the cliffs until you reach Darklight Catacombs south of the river. Go through Darklight Catacombs (there’s a boss at the end) and you’ll reach the Abyssal Woods. There you find the map piece.
