God of War – Cliffs of the Raven Collectible Locations

Cliffs of the Raven contains 5 Collectible Locations in God of War (2018, PS4). This walkthrough will guide you to all the collectibles in Cliffs of the Raven Region in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies and 100% completion is included. Nothing is missable, everything can be collected after the story.

When you can first visit the area in the story, you are still missing the unlockable skills needed to reach some collectibles. This walkthrough is intended for use after the story.

Video Guide

#1 – Language Cipher Chest 1/1 – 0:05
After reaching the Cliffs of the Raven, throw your axe to destroy the orange stuff blocking your path. Make your way to the back of the area, where you’ll be ambushed by a few enemies. There’s a lore marker there but it counts towards the “Shores of Nine” region. To the left of that lore marker you can see a little breakable piece of wood on the side of the rocks. Destroy it by throwing the axe and then help Atreus to crawl up into that hole. Now he can drop you a chain so you can climb up. At the top there’s the purple language cipher chest, needed to unlock Muspelheim/Nilfheim.

#2 – Artefact 1/1 – 2:33
Same place as the language cipher chest, just a few steps to the right side of it.

#3 – Raven 1/1 – 2:41
After picking up the last artefact, stay where you are. Now look in the direction of the beach, where you parked your boat. A raven is at the top of a mountain, actually out of range – so aim a little higher than usual.

#4 – Nornir Chest 1/1 (Rage Upgrade) – 2:58
Prominently placed, but tricky to open, requires Chaos Blades. It’s in the middle of the area. To open it, first grab the green ball of energy with the Chaos Blades from the back of the area (to access it you must backtrack to the beach and pull up the gate with the chain, then throw the axe to destroy the orange things blocking the path). Place the green energy ball on the wall near one of the gates. Now go to the Nornir Chest and remember the 3 runes on it. From the chest, climb up, above the gate where you placed the green ball of energy. Retrieve it with the Chaos Blade and put it on the 3 “energy ball holders” around the area. They will start spinning and show a rune each. You must wait for them to spin the correct rune in place (the one shown on the chest) and then take away the energy ball so the correct runes stays locked in. Do this to all 3 of them. There’s no time limit to this.

#5 – Legendary Chest 1/1 – 6:16
This too requires the green ball of energy. Luckily, with the Nornir chest opened, you are halfway there already. Place the green ball of energy in the central energy holder, in front of the Nornir Chest. Open all gates leading back to the beach (where you left your boat). Now grab the green energy with the Chaos Blades and run very quickly to the beach and put it in the sealed crypt. Then the crypt opens and reveals this Legendary Chest.

That’s 100% of the collectibles you can find in Cliffs of the Raven area in God of War.
