Family Business is the 2nd Favour (Side Quest) for Sindri in God of War 2018. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Sindri’s Family Business Favour.
- Quest Giver: Sindri (at one of his shops)
- Requirement: Given by Sindri after completing the story missions “A New Destination” and his first favour “Fafnir’s Hoard“.
- Reward: Legendary Pommel and 3290 XP
Starting Location Family Business – From one of Sindri’s Shops
The earliest you can obtain this quest is after completing the story quest “A New Destination” and after completing his first favour “Fafnir’s Hoard”. Here is one of Sindri’s shops in Midgard you can collect the quest from:
Remember, once the quest has been accepted head into your Goals tab of your start menu and move over to the favours tab and track the favour to get the waypoint to show on your compass.
Head to the Northri Stronghold
Follow the marker up to the Northri Gorge. Make it through the gorge until you get to the closed door. You will have to dock your boat to use the entry stone on the pedestal to open the door. Get back in your boat and continue on until you get to the boat dock in Northri Stronghold but instead of docking the boat (unless you need to use Sindri’s shop for anything) continue to follow the marker by sailing Northeast until you reach another boat dock between two rather large gates. Dock the boat here.
Find a way to open the grate
After docking the boat follow the path up and fight away the enemies. Once they are gone, head through the broken water wheel and on to the bridge ahead. Look at the waterwheel to the West from that bridge and throw your axe at the chains here:
Explore deeper into the stronghold
Make your way back the same way you came and get back in the boat. continue down the river and dock the boat up ahead where there is an Ogre walking around. Kill him and the rest of the enemies in the area and look in the air for a hanging pallet of stone:
Cut down the stone and climb it. Follow the path to the marker until you get to the Reaver Ship.
Investigate the reaver ship
Use your ax to lower the bridge ahead of you by throwing it at the panel to the South:
Cross the bridge and drop down. After the cutscene a Traveller will appear that you will need to take out. Once you dispatch of the next set of enemies you will need to start heading back to the boat.
Return to the boat
Head across the Reaver Ship to where the Traveller came from and hop down. Use your lightning arrows on the sap vines covering the pathway in the river straight ahead of you and jump across the river. Go through the gates ahead to make your way back to where you docked the boat.
Find a different exit
Get in the boat and sail to the South through the opening you created. Continue until you can’t go forward anymore and dock the boat. There will be a chain you can pull down to open the gate ahead. Get back in the boat and continue forward.
Return to Sindri
Continue forward until you get to Sindri’s camp. Dock the boat and speak with him to drop off the Whetstone. This completes the Family Business favour in Northri Stronghold.
