October 10, 2018 by PowerPyx 5 Comments

Big News in the PlayStation Trophy Community: The first-ever Guinness World Record for Trophy Hunting has been unlocked!

Hakam Karim who is known under his PSN-ID Hakoom wins the Guinness World Record for most PlayStation Platinum Trophies earned. The record is 1691 Platinums.

The bahraini A-Hakam breaks world records for the playstation and enters Guinness for having the most plats and trophies in the world after 10 years!

The official Guinness World Record Entry reads:

The most PlayStation platinum trophies won by an individual is 1,691, achieved by Hakam Karim aka Hakoom (Bahrain) as verified on 19 September 2018.

Record verified by PSNProfiles.

It’s the first time that Guinness has ever allowed trophy hunting to be a record discipline and more trophy-related categories could soon follow. This marks a big milestone in the history of PlayStation trophies — now there’s a shot at a real-world certificate for the thousands of hours us trophy hunters dedicate to completing games.

It took Hakoom 10 years, 2500 games, 70,000 trophies, and grinding an average 18.71 trophies per day. Since the record was filed he already upped it to 1719 Platinums.
Trophies were introduced on PS3 in 2008 and Hakoom has been hunting them since the early days with his first platinum being Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune on August 07, 2008.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Hakoom in real life on multiple occasions. He’s a cool guy and I wish him all the best!

And hopefully, Sony takes notice to celebrate how far trophy hunting and the community behind it have come. While they have done some special promotions locally, there has never been international support on Sony’s end. Time for a change?

Maybe you’re the next world record holder, see How to register for a Guinness World Record.

Below, you can view Hakoom’s announcement video where he talks about it in more depth:

Finally, his hard work , his devotion and the hundreds thousands of hours playing SONY games on a SONY console are rewarded by someone OTHER than SONY.

Over 1’600 platinum trophiey: if Hakoom was Japanese, American or English, we can bet Sony would have praised him, would have sponsored him, he would be featured in many many magazines, would probably have a 2-hour documentary about his passion, his favorite games, the hardest trophies, etc etc, he would be invited at playstation access, and FOR SURE, sony would turn him into some kind of mascot, he would be a vip guest at E3, TGS, etc etc, all that to show the world what being passionate means, why he has chosen the playstation brand, etc etc.

But BECAUSE he was just an ARAB, living in the middle-east , SONY didn’t give a PHUK about him, his passion, his achievements (earning trophies…), NOTHING.

Worse, during all these years, and thousands of games played, exchanged and purchased, ALL Hakoom asked Sony WAS increasing the ‘max psn score’ to 150… or even 200 , because when players reach the ‘100’ level, that value won’t change anymore, it is the limit.

It would only take 2 seconds, for someone at the psn to set the ‘max_psn_level’ at 150.. or 200. 2 seconds, to give the top trophy hunters an extra incentive, to keep earning trophies, and reach level 110…130…180… even if it will take another 2 or 3 years. But NO.

ALSO, any other gamer as Hakoom, would use his notoriety, would live stream all the time, to get dozens thousands dollars worth of tips, and would set a patreon account. But Hakoom did none of that.

    BRAVO, HAKOOM, BRAVO.

Shame on you, Sony, shame on you.

Sony doesnt care and will never support any of this, because in fact Hakoom is a known trophie cheater and exploit abuser, not to talk about his save wizard, and xploder save usage, the most stupid in all of this its websites like psnprofiles actually approve this sort of thing and at the same time they ban/block people with 50 platinums claiming they cheat, removing their access to leaderboards . Hilarious, his trophie stamps are hilarious, how can someone play at the same time 4 games? Are you kidding me? sooner or later he will end up lose all his guiness records like it allready happened in past to other people! Peace.

As much as I want, it difficult to believe that one person is capable of doing this. I play RPG and I put hundreds of hours in each game to get the Platinum Trophy. It’s really hard work for one person to do, and also has a normal life with job, children and other responsibilities.
